YouTuber Saffron Barker has shared that she suffered a nasty fall whilst on her skiing trip in France. The Strictly Come Dancing star has hit the slopes with friends but had to be helped down by a mountain rescue team.
Uploading a video onto her official Instagram account, she wrote: “Well this isn’t how I planned to use this sound…story time is needed.” She added the soundtrack ‘Unwritten’ by Natasha Bedingfield, which has recently boomed in popularity due to the film, Anyone But You.
In Saffron’s video, the star can be seen being attended by a ski patrol from a mountain rescue team. She appeared to be sitting on a slope before being carried onto an emergency ski stretcher with her left leg in a cast.
Saffron then waves to the camera as she is pulled away by the ski patrol. Many of her 1.8 million followers couldn’t help but react to the shocking footage and flocked to the comments section.
One fan said: “Uh oh saffron what happened I swear you’ve only been there 2 minutes,” whilst another chimed in: “Oh saff it would be you, I hope you’re okay though keep us updated my love xx.”
A third typed: “Stretchered off a mountain of ice. Been there done that. Just hope you don’t come away with the wheelchair too,” as a fourth commented: “Oh gosh! Hope you’re ok?”
Despite being helped down the slopes, Saffron appeared to put the incident behind her as she then enjoyed spending time in a hot tub that evening. The extent of Saffron’s skiing injury is currently unknown.
The TV star recently went public with her new relationship with Welsh rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit. The pair confirmed their romance when they attended the premiere of the new Hunger Games movie together.
Saffron, 23, revealed on a podcast that she met Louis on the celebrity dating app, Raya. The app only has 10,000 members and reportedly only accepts eight per cent of applicants.
She admitted: “We actually had no idea who each other were. From there he followed me and messaged me on Instagram. I think the thing that I found most attractive about him was that he was very forward.
“We literally FaceTimed and then we FaceTimed pretty much every day since. And so that’s how that happened! […] He’s very sarcastic, and like, witty, but also from the minute I met him, like, he was just so polite.” [sic]
