Arsenal vs Sheffield United – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Arsenal are aiming to extend their unbeaten Premier League run this weekend when they host bottom-placed Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners, fresh from an important 2-1 victory against Sevilla in the Champions League, head into the weekend clash knowing a victory could see them move to the summit of the Premier League depending on the outcome of Tottenham’s encounter with Crystal Palace on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are simply aiming to climb out of the relegation zone having managed only a point so far this season. The Blades have lost five games in a row and Paul Heckingbottom is still searching for a first Premier League win.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of Arsenal vs Sheffield United this weekend.

Despite scoring and grabbing an assist midweek, Gabriel Jesus could miss out on Arsenal‘s clash with Sheffield United. The Brazilian admitted after the game that he had picked up a hamstring injury in Seville, with the forward now set to undergo scans.

Mikel Arteta stated after the match: “He felt something in his hamstring. Let’s see. He straight away asked to be subbed which is not good news because Gabi is not a player that does that at all so we will have to wait to see in the next few days.”

Thomas Partey also missed the trip to Spain with an apparent muscle injury, but should be fit to face the Blades. Jurrien Timber remains a long-term absentee.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Sheffield United (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Heckingbottom’s extensive injury list is unlikely to help him turn the tide, especially given the number of defensive casualties Sheffield United have at present.

Chris Basham, John Egan and Anel Ahmedhodzic are all sidelined for the foreseeable future, with potentially months in the treatment room for all three defenders. George Baldock is nearing a return but is lacking in match fitness, perhaps seeing him rested for the trip to the Emirates, while Rhys Norrington-Davies and Max Lowe are still out.

Midfielder Tom Davies is also set for months on the sidelines, while the trip to north London is likely to come too soon for forward William Osula.

Oli McBurnie is a slight fitness concern despite scoring against Manchester United last weekend, potentially missing out with a groin strain. Goalkeeper Adam Davies is expected to be fit again, but Daniel Jebbison remains out with illness.

Sheffield United predicted lineup vs Arsenal (4-3-1-2): Foderingham; Bogle, Trusty, Robinson, Thomas; Hamer, Souza, Norwood, McAtee; McBurnie, Archer.

The fact that Arsenal are yet to lose a game and Sheffield United are yet wo win a game in the Premier League more or less tells you everything you need to know about this fixture.

The Gunners are strong, strong favourites for this one and should have little trouble dismantling an injury-stricken Sheffield United side low on quality and confidence.

The Blades have given a decent account of themselves in several games against top clubs this season, but a visit to the Emirates will likely prove fruitless for Heckingbottom’s men.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Sheffield United
