Woman is arrested on suspicion of murder after body is found in flat in Yorkshire

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in a flat in West Yorkshire. 

Police were called to the flat at Francis Lane House in Horsefair, Pontefract, yesterday at 4.17pm by paramedics, who had discovered the body of an adult.

West Yorkshire Police said initial investigations are ongoing and the woman arrested remains in police custody.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the force said: ‘The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) has this evening launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a body in a flat in the Horsefair area.

‘Police were called by the ambulance service to flats at Francis Lane House in Horsefair, Pontefract at about 16.17 today after paramedics attended and found an adult’s body there.

‘Initial investigations are ongoing into what took place and a woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.

‘She remains in police custody this evening.’ 

Police are now appealing for information – anyone who can help the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 referencing police log 1114 of December 13.
