Amanda Owen shares update with astonishing family snaps as Ravenseat buried in heavy snow

Ravenseat Farm has been sprinkled with a magical-looking covering of snow – and Amanda Owen’s kids are in their element. However, the 49-year-old Owen matriarch and star of Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm may not have been so sure.

As she shared snaps of one of her daughters playing with a dog, with a woolen hat slung so low on her forehead that it almost covered her eyes, Amanda groaned: “Roll on spring.” The white winter landscapes might look pretty, but it can get tough looking after her 2000-acre Yorkshire Dales farm when the ice descends and the temperatures plummet.

In fact, she’s found herself totally “snowed in” on occasion. However, those risks didn’t deter her happy-looking kids, as eight-year-old daughter Annas was also pictured in a makeshift shelter she’d carved out of a snow drift.

The balaclava-clad little girl was all smiles, although in the past Amanda has let her frustration show about the length of time it was taking to teach Annas the responsibilities involved in running a farm. She’d been checking on the lambs for her mum back in 2021, when she warned her not to “cut corners”.

“[The kids have] got all kinds of obstacles that are going to come in their way. See how long it takes them,” Amanda exclaimed in video footage. “Annas, you’ve got to go to the top! [You’re] cutting corners already,” she added.

Despite that, she’s already become a TV star at her tender age, starring with sisters Nancy and Clemmy on Sky Kids’ Pooch Mooch show.

The show was created to “celebrate the special relationship between a child and their dog”.

Meanwhile, Amanda has a strong bond with all her children, which regularly plays out in updates shared to her Instagram and Twitter accounts.

After she shared snaps of Annas and Clemmy burrowing out their own snowy shelters, with the caption “Dig those drifts”, fans responded with joy.

“OMG that snow is deep. The children are loving it . Most kids would [be on] their tech in the home, [but] yours love being outdoors just like we did when we were young!” one of her 534,000 followers exclaimed.

Commending their bravery in the icy temperatures, another chimed in: “It’s so good to see the kids out enjoying themselves whatever the weather!”

Other fans in the comments called for a new series “to see how the children have grown and catch up on all their future plans”, not forgetting the likes of Tony the pony.

Meanwhile, some sympathised for Amanda’s call for spring to come quicker over on Twitter, with one writing: “It’s only February yet I feel like winter has been longer than usual this past season. Roll on springtime, lambs, daffodils, longer and brighter days. Oh and not so much rain!”
