Chelsea vs Wolves – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

Chelsea’s quest for consistency continues on Sunday when they host Wolves at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

The Blues’ season took yet another step in the wrong direction when they were comprehensively beaten by Liverpool in midweek, with Mauricio Pochettino struggling for regular results from his team.

They could climb to eighth with a win here but the west Londoners could also drop behind Wolves, who were beaten by Man Utd in midweek despite a spirited performance after conceding two early goals. They are more than capable of beating this Chelsea team and it could be a really tight affair.

Here’s all you need to know about Chelsea vs Wolves in the Premier League this weekend.

There wasn’t enough time after Senegal’s defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations for Nicolas Jackson to be involved against Liverpool, but he is expected to return against Wolves and give Pochettino a fresh option.

There are still lots of players out injured for Chelsea, like Levi Colwill, Lesley Ugochukwu, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, Robert Sanchez and Trevoh Chalobah, so the coach is limited on what he can change.

However, after such a dismal effort at Anfield, alterations are expected from the former Tottenham boss.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Wolves (4-2-3-1): Petrovic; Disasi, Silva, Badiashile, Gusto; Caicedo, Fernandez; Palmer, Nkunku, Sterling; Jackson.

Wolves are lucky to have a fit bill of health, a very rare thing right now in the Premier League, though there some absenstees with Hwang Hee-chan at the Asian Cup and Boubacar Traore still at AFCON.

Gary O’Neil will have to think about rotating his team a little given there isn’t much of a turnaround after the Man Utd clash. Rayan Ait-Nouri is a candidate to come into the starting XI, along with Pablo Sarabia and Joao Gomes.

Wolves predicted lineup vs Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Sa; Kilman, Dawson, Toti; Semedo, Lemina, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Neto; Cunha.

It’s a simple fact of Chelsea’s season that when they come into matches like this, they can’t be backed to win all three points. They look just as disjointed as ever and morale will have taken a knock after the drubbing at Liverpool.

Wolves are a good team and have the tools to beat the Blues. As long as they don’t show their hosts too much respect, the visitors should be getting a draw out of this match.

Prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Wolves
