NHS doctor mocks Israeli festivalgoers fleeing Hamas gunmen in social media post saying: ‘If it was your home, you would stay and fight. You wouldn’t just run away’

An NHS medic shockingly mocked Israeli festivalgoers for fleeing Hamas gunmen, MailOnline can reveal today.

Dr Mennah Elwan said ‘if it was your home, you would stay and fight’ in response to horrifying footage of Palestinian terrorists opening fire on innocent partygoers who gathered for an all-night trance music rave.

The neurology registrar also claimed ‘there are no civilians in Israel’ in her series of abhorrent posts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Comments by Dr Elwan, who last week attended a British Medical Association (BMA) rally in Manchester, show support for the brutal series of surprise attacks in Israel by Hamas.

More than 700 Israeli soldiers and civilians — including 260 slaughtered at the same music festival Dr Elwan posted footage of — have been killed.

In response to footage of revellers running for their lives from the barbaric attack, Dr Elwan questioned the behaviour those fleeing.

Reposting a terrifying clip of people attempting to dash to safety at the Supernova Festival, which took place close to the Gaza Strip, she wrote: ‘If it was your home, you would stay and fight. You wouldn’t just run away.’

Egyptian-trained Dr Elwan then closed off her statement with a smiley emoji.

People can be heard screaming as shots are fired while police are seen trying to help people evacuate.

Other footage from the incident has since emerged showing gunmen executing civilians as they lay in the sand before rifling through their pockets.

Corpses of victims have since been piled up in makeshift tents as Israeli emergency responders work to identify the remains.

In another post, Dr Elwan also appeared to support the wave of horrific violence towards Israeli civilians and tourists over the weekend.

She wrote: ‘Israel kills Palestinians everyday, didn’t see anyone caring’, again ending the statement with a smiley face emoji.

Dr Elwan went on to add: ‘Also, there are no civilians in Israel.’

In another post, a reply to PM Rishi Sunak expressing his support Israel, she said the UK should simply take the Israeli population away from Palestine

‘Just take all the Israelis to the UK from terrorist Palestine a win for everyone, no?’ she wrote.

MailOnline approached Dr Elwan about her posts — but she made her profile private after this website reached out to her.

While Dr Elwan says she works in the NHS, she did not name which organisation she was employed by.

She previously posted about being a medic at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. But the trust told MailOnline she was not a current member of their staff.

Dr Elwan has worked in the NHS as recently as last year, describing how she worked at the health service’s The Walton Centre, a major neurology hospital in Liverpool, in a YouTube video.

The Walton Centre was contacted for comment.

The medic, who is partway through her training to become a doctor specialising in neurology, just last week boasted about joining an NHS picket line.

She wrote how ‘great’ it was to attend a rally organised by the BMA in Manchester on October 3 to coincide with the Tory party conference.

Dr Elwan wrote about ‘Manchester turning orange’ with the hashtag #BMAPayRally’ and pictures of her attending the event.

Strike action by medics has led to almost 1.2million NHS appointment cancellations, official figures show.

She also advocated for the removal of Israeli people from the country as an apparent soultion to the long-running conflict

A BMA spokesperson said the union would be investigating her posts.

‘Dr Elwan does not speak for or represent the BMA and the comments shared with us do not reflect the BMA or its values in any way,’ they said.

‘We will be fully investigating the matter in line with our procedures.’

Britain’s medical regulator, the General Medical Council (GMC), which has the power to officially sanction medics for inappropriate behaviour, said their standards apply to posts made by medics on social media.

Standards state medics should ‘make sure that your conduct justifies your patients’ trust in you and the public’s trust in the profession’.

A spokesperson for the regulator added: ‘The GMC can investigate where there are concerns that patient safety or the public’s confidence in doctors may be at risk and take action if needed.’

Survivors of the music festival massacre have since posted chilling footage of hiding in nearby vegetation for hours as they penned goodbyes to their families, not believing they would see them again.

Israeli authorities have asked distraught relatives of those missing to bring personal items such as combs and toothbrushes so investigators can attempt to match their DNA to bodies.

The massacre was one just one of many bloody attacks launched by Hamas after the group infiltrated communities in Israel’s south.

More than 700 Israelis have been killed since Hamas launched its large-scale attack over the weekend, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said today.

Another 1,200 people have been wounded, many critically.

Other people have been taken hostage by Hama in distressing images and video posted to social media.

One of those captured at the music festival was 30-year-old German tattoo artist Shani Louk.

Her lifeless, half-naked body was paraded on the back of a Hamas pick-up trick as terrorists sat on top of her and jeered following the violent incursion.

Other civilians unaccounted for include Noa Argamani and her boyfriend Avi Nathan.

Footage shows the 25-year-old student screaming as she was forced onto the back of a motorcycle just metres away from her helpless boyfriend who was held at gunpoint.

Both remain missing.

In response, the Israeli army has hit more than 500 targets in the Gaza Strip in overnight retaliatory strikes on the impoverished and blockaded Gaza Strip, an enclave of 2.3 million people, with officials there reporting at least 413 Palestinian deaths.

‘Overnight IDF fighter jets, helicopters, aircraft and artillery struck over 500 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip,’ the military said in a statement.

Thick plumes of smoke billowed from the Palestinian enclave as the strikes continued in the early hours of the morning.

In a statement delivered from Chequers, Mr Sunak said: ‘The scenes that we’ve seen in Israel over the past 36 hours are truly horrifying.

‘I want to express my absolute solidarity for the people of Israel now is not a time for equivocation, and I’m unequivocal. Hamas, and the people who support Hamas, are fully responsible for this appalling act of terror, for the murder of civilians and for the kidnapping of innocent people, including children.’

British Jews are also fearful that hateful events in the Middle East could spill over into the UK.

The Metropolitan Police announced it had ramped up ‘reassurance patrols’ in London as  images and videos of people waving Palestine flags and celebrating the bloody assault in the capital were shared on social media.

Suella Braverman warned that the ‘full force of the law’ will be used against those who support Hamas or ‘intimidate’ Jews in Britain.

She posted on X this morning to say the government was doing ‘everything necessary’ to protect Jewish communities.

‘Whenever Israel is attacked, Islamists and other racists use Israeli defensive measures as a pretext to stir up hatred against British Jews,’ she wrote.

‘There must be zero tolerance for anti-semitism or glorification of terrorism on the streets of Britain.

‘I expect the police to use the full force of the law against displays of support for Hamas, other proscribed terrorist groups or attempts to intimidate British Jews.’
