Dr. Terry Dubrow reveals why he plans to get back on Ozempic after quitting due to lack of appetite

Dr. Terry Dubrow is on a break from using Ozempic — for now.

After telling Page Six exclusively in January that he decided to stop using the Type 2 diabetes drug to lose weight, the celebrity plastic surgeon confirmed Thursday that he plans to start taking the medication again in the future.

“I’m off it, but I plan on going back on it when it’s appropriate,” he told E! News at the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles.

“Like, we have a vacation, and after that, I’ll come back. It’s like the new Botox, Ozempic. I love it. It’s so good,” he raved.

Dubrow’s admission of his plans came after he described himself as “overweight and chubby” thanks to being off the trendy drug.

The 65-year-old star told Page Six he stopped taking Ozempic — which is meant to help lower blood sugar in people with Type 2 diabetes — because he didn’t enjoy his suppressed appetite.

“I thought, ‘You know what? I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming; I want to enjoy myself,’” he recalled.

The “Botched” star added, “You go on vacation, maybe you don’t exercise, you eat too much. It was kind of like, ‘Well, I want to go on a food vacation,’ meaning I want to be able to eat again.”

Despite halting his use of the drug, he had nothing but praises to sing for Ozempic, calling it a “miracle” and “the biggest breakthrough in medical history.”

His wife, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Heather Dubrow, however, doesn’t think Ozempic is all the rage and called her husband’s plans to take it again “silly.”

“Thank god he’s off Ozempic! He wouldn’t have fun, he wouldn’t eat bread. There was no pasta,” she vented to E! News.

Terry, of course, is far from the first celebrity to share he’s taken advantage of Ozempic.

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Heather Gay and comedian Tracy Morgan have confessed to using the popular medication to slim down.

Plus, Elon Musk and Sheryl Underwood have admitted to utilizing a similar weight-loss drug, Wegovy.
