Patrick Mahomes safe following shooting at Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade, asks for prayers for Kansas City

Patrick Mahomes is safe after a deadly shooting took place during the team’s Super Bowl victory parade in Kansas City, Mo.

“Praying for Kansas City…🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback wrote via X (previously Twitter) Wednesday afternoon.

Mahomes’ message comes shortly after news surfaced that multiple people were shot in Union Station while celebrating the team’s Super Bowl LVIII win against the San Francisco 49ers.

Per CNN, Kansas City Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hopkins reported that one person has died while 14 others are injured. Among those, three patients are in critical condition, five are in serious condition and one has non-life-threatening injuries.
