Ozzy Osbourne ‘Can’t Walk Properly Yet’ But Hopes To Go On Tour Soon!

In a triumphant comeback, the legendary Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, stands tall and ready to reclaim his throne.

After enduring multiple spinal operations from a 2019 fall, the heavy metal icon delivered an encouraging health update after his last surgery. The star also revealed that he is gearing up to ignite stages with a renewed zeal that promises to leave audiences awestruck.

Ozzy Osbourne Rocks Back To Life: Hopes To Tour After Final Spinal Surgery

After being in and out of the hospital for more than four years, the 74-year-old has expressed relief at achieving his last spinal surgery, stating:

“I’ve had all the surgery now, thank god. I’m feeling okay – it was just dragging on.”

The “Crazy Train” artist then explained that he “thought I’d be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong. I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain any more and the surgery on my spine went great.”

Furthermore, Osbourne shared an optimistic outlook for 2024, outlining his intentions to embark on a new album project. He declared, “I’m getting myself fit,” before teasing some tentative plans concerning his music. The father-of-five stated:

“I’ve done two albums fairly recently [2020’s Ordinary Man and 2022’s Patient Number 9, both produced by Andrew Watt], but I want to do one more album and then go back on the road.”

But when prodded for specifics in the interview with Metal Hammer, the “Bark at the Moon” singer revealed that he had a studio set up at his home in the UK with his sights set on reuniting with Andrew Watt. In his words:

“I’m just starting to work on it now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year. I want to take my time with this one!”

2023 proved to be a challenging year for the “Black Sabbath” singer, seeing as he had to cancel his much-anticipated No More Tours 2 in February, ultimately leading to his decision to retire from touring altogether.

This would not mark the first rescheduling of the European tour, initially slated for 2019. Having postponed it three times already, Osbourne reluctantly decided to forego the live show, recognizing the challenge of satisfying his eager fans

In a heartfelt, extensive post, the “Master of Reality” artist apologized to his fans, expressing regret for “disappointing” them. He confessed that he could never have foreseen that his “touring days would have ended this way.”

Reflecting on the spinal surgery that prevented potential paralysis almost a year ago, the “Little Nicky” star shared “This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans. As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine.” He continued:

“My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”

The “South Park” actor acknowledged that his fans’ patience had touched him. Still, he had come to the difficult realization that he would be physically unable to manage the demands of the upcoming tour due to travel constraints.

If you thought that the rocker’s spinal issues began with just his 2019 fall, you were wrong. That incident adds to a history of injuries, including a quad bike accident at his estate in 2003, which led to multiple surgeries, with the last procedure in July 2022.

As reported by The Blast, the “Sherlock Gnomes” voice actor confirmed his fourth surgery, which would address the lingering structural damage from 2019.

During the first episode of his family’s revamped “The Osbournes Podcast,” he emphasized that most pain emanated from his back. The “Trick or Treat” star explained that he was going for an “epidural soon because what they’ve discovered is the neck has been fixed.”

However, he then described a more serious issue lower in his spine, stating, “Below the neck there’s two vertebrae where the bike hit me and disintegrated, there’s nothing left of ’em.”

The songwriter also revealed: “In my back, the two discs and the muscles on my shoulders have separated from my skeleton.” He pointed out that it was why he leans “forward as it’s like gravity is bringing my head forward. I was thinking, ‘I’ve walked like that all my life.’”
