Kristin Cavallari doubles down on controversial dating advice after backlash: ‘I stand by it’

Kristin Cavallari is brushing off backlash after her recent dating advice sparked controversy.

The “Hills” star told TMZ Sunday that she “stand[s] by” telling “Let’s Be Honest” podcast listeners last week that it “doesn’t f—king matter” when they sleep with a new partner.

“I’m not encouraging people to sleep with anyone on the first date,” she clarified. “I just think when you really have a connection with someone, it really doesn’t matter.

“If there’s chemistry and people really like each other, he’s not gonna judge you — or vice versa — on if you sleep with them on the first date or the 10th date.”

Cavallari, who said she has “never slept with anyone on the first date,” went on to tell the outlet that the viral podcast clip was “taken out of context” in relation to the “full conversation” featured in the episode.

The “Very Cavallari” alum’s decision to double down comes on the heels of sexist Instagram users slamming her “trash” advice in social media comments, claiming the decision “matters to God.”

One misogynistic follower wrote, “Why buy the cow, when the milk is free. Food for thought. Hookup culture destines you to end up alone.”

Amid the controversy, however, Cavallari was praised by former “Bachelor” Nick Viall and more fans.

“I hear no lies,” the “Viall Files” podcast host, 43, quipped, while others shared their success stories with first date hookups.

“Same night as first date, engaged 7 months later, married 9 years,” one social media user recalled. “It will be okay if you bone the first night. Trust me.”

Another noted, “these comments are crazy ??? women (and men) can do whatever they want as consenting adults.”

Cavallari divorced ex-husband Jay Cutler since 2020.

Cavallari often speaks candidly about her dating life since splitting from ex-husband Jay Cutler in 2020 and launching her podcast earlier this year.

The “Laguna Beach” alum, who co-parents Camden, 11, Jaxon, 9, and Saylor, 8, with her ex, recently called Tyler Cameron the “hottest” guy she’s been with.

Cutler, for his part, is currently dating Samantha Robertson. The 50-year-old made his romance Instagram-official in October.
