‘Disappointed’ Gayle King reacts to Cindy Crawford’s claim Oprah Winfrey treated her ‘like chattel’

Gayle King is baffled by Cindy Crawford calling out Oprah Winfrey over a 1986 interview.

While admitting that she has yet to watch the throwback footage, the journalist told Entertainment Tonight Thursday that she is “surprised and a little disappointed.”

King, 68, explained, “I know Cindy’s been on her show many, many, many times and it has always been a pleasant experience, [so] I would hate to think that something that happened years ago [could have bothered her].”

The “CBS This Morning” co-host insisted that it’s not Winfrey’s “thing to humiliate or make anybody feel badly.”

She speculated, “As far as I know, everything is good between Oprah and Cindy.”

Winfrey, 69, has yet to address Crawford claim on Apple TV+’s “The Super Models” series that she was objectified on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” during an appearance alongside Elite Model Management founder John Casablancas.

In the documentary, released Sept. 20, the 57-year-old recalled being asked to “stand up [for] just a moment” onstage.

“This is what I call a body,” Winfrey told the studio audience at the time.

“I was like the chattel or a child, be seen and not heard,” Crawford said in a confessional. “When you look at it through today’s eyes, Oprah’s like … ‘Show us why you’re worthy of being here.’”

Although the actress “didn’t recognize this” in the moment, she had a different reaction “watching it back” later.

“I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, that was so not OK really,’” she explained. “Especially from Oprah!”

Winfrey has yet to respond.

The series also features candid interviews with Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.

Evangelista, 58, recalled posing nude at age 16 and claimed her ex-husband Gérald Marie was abusive but “knew not to touch [her] face,” while Campbell, 53, discussed her drug addiction.

The four models all reunited on the Vogue World runway earlier this month, as well as on the cover of the magazine’s September issue.
