Her trouser streak has officially ended.
Kate Middleton ditched her go-to pants for the first time in over a month as she visited two universities in England Wednesday, sporting a cozy knit skirt set that revisits another one of her favorite fashion eras.
The Princess of Wales, 41, wore a beige ribbed sweater ($145) and matching skirt ($175) from Sezane as she stopped by Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham to discuss mental health initiatives.
While her cozy ribbed top with button detail at the sleeves is currently sold out, it’s available in six other colors ranging from bold purple to classic black.
The look is a familiar one for the princess, who wore monochromatic sweaters and skirts on repeat last fall.
While her outfit was new, she chose some old favorite accessories including a taupe Mini Holly bag by Tusting ($495), Simone Rocha pearl drop earrings and a bisque suede pair of her trusty Gianvito Rossi pumps ($640).
The last time the royal wore anything but trousers was September 8, when she sported a maroon coatdress and fascinator on the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
Since then, she’s worn a series of trouser suits, breaking her streak only once to wear a pair of wide-legged pants with a sweater vest.
Fans rejoiced about the Princess of Wales’ return to skirts on social media, like one who commented on the Royal Fashion Police Instagram account writing, “😂😂 the moment everyone waiting for..no more suit.”
“Wait is over! 🎉” another fan added, while a third wrote, “Finally……… I can breathe from suit era 😮💨.”
The Princess of Wales’ university visits on Wednesday coincided with a series of engagements she’s undertaking based around World Mental Health Day.
She kicked off the day Tuesday in a bright yellow blazer and black trousers with meaningful star earrings from Ear Sass ($32) as she co-hosted a youth mental health forum with Prince William, 41.
Thursday brings another appearance for the stylish royal — and only time will tell if the trousers make their return.
