Yvan Buravan was a famous R&B singer and composer from Rwanda. Yvan Buravan is widely known for his songs ‘Tiku Tiku,’ ‘Garagaza,’ ‘With You,’ ‘Gusaakaara,’ ‘Heaven,’ and ‘Bindimo’.
Early Life and Childhood
Yvan Buravan was born in Rwanda on April 27, 1995. His full name was Yvan Dushime Burabyo. His astrological sign was Taurus. Buravan had an African nationality and followed the Islamic religion.
Regarding his family background, his father was a harmonicist and poet. He grew up along with his 5 siblings however their names are unknown. Besides that, Buravan never revealed information concerning his mother and other family members.

Speaking of his educational background, At Le Per Prince, Yvan concluded his elementary education. After that, he went to high school at La Colombier and Amid Des Enfants.
Further, He enrolled at the University of Rwanda CBE to further his education. He had a bachelor’s degree in business technology and communication.
Career and Professional Life
Talking about his career, He launched an astoundingly successful solo career at the age of 21, producing song after hit. In 2016, he launched his debut single, “Bindimo,” followed by “Malaika,” which became history.
Buravan published his first record, titled “The Love Lab,” in 2018 as a one-man act. His album’s sound has been characterized as that of a world-class Afro, RnB, Pop, and soul singer.

Further, Buravan released his second album, “Twaje,” in 2021. The music on this CD combines ear-pleasing instrumentals with mellow melodies to create artistic works that are creative, original, and deeply moving.
Buravan has centred his music on themes of love, nationalism, culture, peace, and reconciliation under the motto “sing to express not to impress.”
He was primarily motivated by the love of his family and the strength and progress shown by his nation following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis.

The 2018 RFI PRIX DECOUVERTES award went to Yvan Buravan. Radio France International (“RFI”), in collaboration with UNESCO, the Institut Français, and the Organization International de la Francophonie (“OIF”), has given this prize.
Yvan Buravan was a nominee for the 2019 ATA (African Talent Awards).
In 2019, the Agahozo Shalom Village award for “Opus Celebrity of the Year” was one of the accolades he earned from the locals.
He was given the Best Rwandan Video Award for 2016.
Yvan Buravan – Personal Life
Regarding his love life, Yvan Buravan never shared any information concerning his relationship or love life. It seems that Buravan was a quiet private person who disliked sharing his personal details with the media.
Since there was no proof of his relationship status we can assume that Buravan might be single and unmarried at the time of his death.
Death
On August 17, 2022, Yvan Buravan, then 27 years old, died due to pancreatic cancer in a calm manner. Buravan bravely fought his illness and persisted through it all to the very end.
On August 23rd, 2022, a memorial ceremony was conducted at Camp Kigali, and hundreds of fans attended to show their respect. He was buried on August 24, 2022.
