Comedian Vadivel Balaji dies due to heart attack

Popular actor Vadivel Balaji, known for his mimicry and imitating the body language of famous comedian Vadivelu, passed away earlier today morning at the Government hospital in Chennai. The 45-year-old comedian is survived by his wife and a son and a daughter.
Reports are that Vadivel Balaji was admitted at a popular hospital in Chennai after suffering a heart attack.
The comedian was apparently paralyzed following the attack and had been under treatment for the past 15 days. After not being able to manage the expenses at that hospital, he is said to have shifted to a couple of other hospitals and finally to the Government hospital this morning. Unfortunately, efforts to save him proved futile and he passed away this morning.

Interestingly, Vadivel Balaji was shooting for Mr & Mrs Chinnathirai 2 until a couple of weeks ago and had apparently got eliminated as well from the show. He first rose to fame through Vijay TV’s Kalaka Povadhu Yaaru and was a part of Vijay TV’s comedy team. He acted in a few movies too and the roles were similar to what Vadivelu would do in his movies.
Though he made his television debut with ‘Kalaka Povadhu Yaaru’, he became popular with the game show ‘Adhu Idhu Edhu’ hosted by Sivakarthikeyan. He was part of the ‘Siricha Pochu’ in the team, that tries to make the guests laugh in that particular round. He was known to make the guests laugh single-handedly, while the rest of the participants mostly worked in pairs or as a team to make the guest laugh.
Vadivel Balaji had in fact grown close to Sivakarthikeyan during the show. Director Nelson who was the script writer on the popular television channel, made his debut as a director with Nayanthara starrer ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ and he had given Vadivel Balaji a role in the film.
