Drake Bell defends Josh Peck following criticism for silence over ‘Quiet on Set’ doc: ‘Take it easy on him’

Drake Bell defended former “Drake & Josh” co-star Josh Peck after fans denounced him for not speaking out following the horrifying abuse allegations Bell and other former Nickelodeon actors made in the “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” docuseries released this week.

“I’ve noticed a lot of comments on some of Josh’s TikToks and some of his posts and I just want to let you guys know that … processing this and going through this is a really emotional time and a lot of it’s very, very difficult, so not everything is put out to the public,” Bell, 37, said in a TikTok video he shared Wednesday.

“I just want you guys to know that he has reached out to me and it’s been very sensitive, but he has reached out to talk with me and help me work through this and he’s been really, really great.”

He concluded his one-minute video by telling fans, “Take it a little easy on him.”

Bell posted the video after Peck, 37, was hounded online for posting a TikTok on Monday that showed him lip-syncing to audio that said, “If I haven’t talked to you since 2023, take that as a f–king sign that you don’t exist to me anymore.”

Many fans believed the video was Peck trying to distance himself from the allegations made in the bombshell docuseries and his fellow former child stars who participated in it.

“Your silence speaks volumes bro. It’s really sad. 😢,” one TikTok user commented under the video.

“Josh you disappointed us..” added another.

Meanwhile, other fans accused Peck of deleting comments about the docuseries as well as blocking accounts that called him out for his silence.

In the docuseries, Bell claimed former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck — who has no relation to Josh — sexually assaulted him throughout his time with the network.

“Why don’t you think of the worst stuff that someone could do to somebody as a sexual assault,” he recalled of the abuse he went through. “I don’t know how else to put it.”

Bell, who moved to Mexico in recent years and has built himself a successful career there with the name Draka Campana, also revealed himself as the unnamed child in the 2004 sexual abuse case against Brian.

Brian pleaded no contest. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison and had to register as a sex offender. Still, he landed back in Hollywood with a job on the hit Disney Channel series, “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.”

Other former child stars featured in the docuseries included outspoken “Zoey 101” star Alexa Nikolas and several cast members from “All That.”

They accused former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider — who was behind popular shows like “The Amanda Show,” “Drake & Josh,” “Zoey 101,” “iCarly” and “Victorious” — of creating a toxic work environment and being inappropriate with them.

He has since issued an apology, saying, “Me facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret, I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”

He also called for some of his old jokes deemed inappropriate to be cut from his shows.
