Brittany Cartwright on Where She Stands With Stassi, ‘The Valley’

Brittany Cartwright Discusses Where She Stands With Stassi After Rift, Valley Crossovers, and What She's Nervous About as She Also Dishes on Losing 45-Pounds Without Ozempic

Brittany Cartwright is offering an update on where she stands with Stassi Schroeder just under two years after suffering a falling out with her former Vanderpump Rules co-star after she and Jax Taylor pulled out of her and Beau Clark‘s wedding in the final hours.

Days after Stassi, 35, confirmed she is “not friends” with Brittany and Jax, or any other members of The Valley cast, Brittany, 35, spoke of their relationship while also confirming that certain Pump Rules stars will appear on the spinoff, sharing the one thing she’s nervous about in regard to the new show, and dishing on her return to Jenny Craig.

“I want nothing but the best for Stassi,” Brittany told E! News on February 6. “We’re definitely not as close as we were and I definitely miss her so, so much. But, we’re nice to each other.”

Because Brittany and Stassi have mutual friends, including Lala Kent, 33, and Scheana Shay, 38, they frequently cross paths with one another.

“We give each other hugs,” she said. “Hopefully, one day we can get back [to] how we used to be, but I’m so happy for her and her beautiful family.”

As Pump Rules fans well know, Brittany shares two-year-old son Cruz with Jax, 44, and Stassi shares three-year-old daughter Hartford and five-month-old son Messer with Beau, 43. Meanwhile, Lala is mom to two-year-old Ocean, and Scheana is mom to two-year-old Summer.

“Ocean and Summer and Cruz, we try to get them together a lot,” Brittany noted. “We go to each other’s houses and play. It’s just amazing because I don’t have family here in California. We always are there for each other and that means so much to me.”

Looking ahead to the debut of The Valley, Brittany confirmed crossovers would be happening, although she didn’t name names, and revealed the one thing she’s nervous about.

“We’re all real friends and they all know everyone else on the show, so it’s very natural for us to be on each other’s shows,” she explained. “The only part that I would say I am nervous about is that Cruz will be a big part of the show and people judging a 2-year-old or our parenting skills, crazy things like that, is the only thing that really worries me. But then again, if you’re somebody judging a 2-year-old, then you got serious issues. He’s adorable and people are going to love him.”

As for her return to her brand ambassadorship with Jenny Craig, who recently launched a home delivery plan, Brittany said she was looking forward to maintaining her 45-pound weight loss — and potentially losing 10 more pounds.

“The first time around with Jenny Craig I lost 45 pounds because I just had my baby Cruz,” she told the Daily Mail on February 5. “I want to maintain my weight so I can stay healthy for my kid. Chasing around a toddler takes energy! I love my body and I feel great where I’m at I’ve learned portion control and intermittent fasting which is so helpful. I love this program, it really works for me as they teach you a lot about how to eat.”

“I like to eat their chicken fettuccine Alfredo, the chicken carbonara, pizza, cheeseburgers the breakfast omelet. There’s so much they offer that I like and I have a huge sweet tooth so I can have those things. I like the chocolate lava cake, the cheesecake, and the lemon cake because I love sweets,” she continued.

According to Brittany, she wasn’t open to using Ozempic because she heard of the sickness and nausea that it can lead to.

“I already have such a sensitive stomach and I don’t want to feel sick. I also feel like it’s not realistic long-term,” she explained.

For now, Brittany is utilizing intermittent fasting to gain control of her snacking habits and working out four to five times per week.

“I will not lie I would love to lose five or 10 more pounds but my big [priority is] just to be fair I want to feel good about myself,” she shared. “I’m a runner and I use weights and I love interval training, it’s really good for me. I often do powerwalking and sprinting back-and-forth – running is good for my mental health and it’s so nice to get outside and go for a walk. If I don’t work out, I just feel sluggish.”

In a statement about Brittany’s return, Stephen Mikulak, President of Wellful’s Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem brands, said the company was “delighted” to have her back as a brand ambassador.

“Brittany is relatable, authentic and a true Jenny Craig success story. We are confident that her story will resonate with our customers, and she will be an inspiration to individuals making the resolution to lose weight and improve their health. We’ve been amazed by the outpouring of consumer demand since the relaunch of the brand and we’re so excited to have Brittany help us continue that growth trajectory for such an iconic brand,” he said.

Jenny Craig recently rebranded itself, adding a home-delivery plan to its program, which includes seven days of chef-made meals and desserts.

“I was so excited when I heard that Jenny Craig had relaunched and I’m thrilled to team up with the brand once again,” Brittany added. “Being a busy mom, convenience and simplicity is key. Jenny Craig was easy-to-follow before, but now it’s even easier with meals delivered right to my door and virtual coaching.”

In addition to embarking on health habits, Brittany is considering expanding her family with Jax.

“We do want to welcome a second child. I definitely want another baby 100%. I am not pregnant right now but I’ve talked to Jax about it. We don’t want our children to be too far apart in age,” she noted.

As for her marriage, Brittany said that while things are “great” today, they were a “little weird” after her and Jax’s departures from Pump Rules.

“Everything is going great with Jax, he’s an amazing father and it’s made me fall in love with him even more. It’s been so good for our relationship to be working again. It got a little weird after we left Vanderpump Rules, but now we’re back on track and I think it’s good for us to both stay busy,” she revealed.

And busy they are — with The Valley, a new bar, and a podcast.

“These people have been in our lives for many years – they’re real and relatable people. There will also be some drama because of all the personalities involved, of course,” Brittany said of their new show.

Also during the interview, Brittany reacted to Lala’s plans to welcome a second child via artificial insemination.

“I’m so proud of Lala for talking about how she wants to have a second child on her own with IUI – she’s so strong and she went through so much with Randall Emmett and their break up, so I get it she’s done with dating for now. It’s cool that she wants to do artificial insemination and doesn’t want to wait around for a man to have a baby. I respect that so much – so many women will be empowered by her,” she gushed.

The Valley season one is expected to premiere on Bravo this spring.
