Chelsea Handler claims she “didn’t know” she was on the diabetes drug Ozempic.
During her visitor look on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast Wednesday, the comic alleged that her anti-aging physician “simply palms” the medicine “out to anyone … to drop 5 kilos.”
The 47-year-old joked, “Obviously, now I can’t say her title.”
While Handler knew on the time that she was taking Semaglutide, she allegedly didn’t know what it was for till she was out to eat with a good friend.
“I got here again from a trip and I injected myself with it. I went to lunch with a girlfriend a number of days later, and he or she was like, ‘I’m probably not consuming something. I’m so nauseous, I’m on Ozempic,’” she recalled.
“I used to be like, ‘I’m form of nauseous too.’ But I had simply come again from Spain and was jet-lagged. I had been there for a month. White privilege.”
When Handler’s pal requested whether or not she was “positive” she wasn’t on Ozempic, the “Chelsea” host replied, “What is it? I’m on Semaglutide.”
Her good friend confirmed, “That’s Ozempic.”
Handler, who advised host Alexandra Cooper that she nonetheless has the medicine at her home, known as the “miracle [drug] … too good to be true” and “irresponsible” to take.
“I’m not on it anymore,” she clarified. “I’m an irresponsible drug person, however I’m not gonna take a diabetic drug. I attempted it, and I’m not gonna try this. That’s not for me. That’s not proper for me.”
In order to look “good” internet hosting the Critics Choice Awards and “The Daily Show,” Handler famous that she opted for short-term sobriety as an alternative.
With Ozempic making headlines this month for its rampant use in Hollywood, Khloé Kardashian, Kyle Richards and extra A-listers have denied taking the medicine.
Rosie O’Donnell, for her half, clarified in a TikTok video final week that whereas she not too long ago misplaced 10 kilos with an urge for food suppressant, it was “not Ozempic.”
“My physician put me on Mounjaro … and Repatha,” the previous “View” co-host, who has been identified with Diabetes Type 2, defined. “My urge for food has decreased considerably.”
