Ryan Edwards, known for his time on “Teen Mom”, was busted for going double the speed limit in a 65 mph zone.
The former reality television star was charged with reckless driving and two other charges after he was allegedly caught going 145 mph in a 65 mph zone in Tennessee.
Ryan Edwards Charged After Going Double The Speed Limit
Ryan Edwards was reportedly charged with reckless driving — and two other charges including with “Failure to Exercise Due Care” — on October 7 near his parents’ home in Tennessee.
“Failure to Exercise Due Care” is a Class C misdemeanor in Tennessee, while reckless driving is a Class B misdemeanor.
According to court documents, obtained by The Ashley, Ryan Edwards was riding his motorcycle around 10 p.m. on October 7. He was pulled over for allegedly driving 145 mph in a 65 mph.
The officer, who pulled Edwards over, stated in the docs that he was caught going 80 miles per hour over the speed limit. The “Teen Mom” star was charged with three charges but was not arrested. He is due in court next Wednesday.
Ryan Edwards Ordered To Rehab
This latest bust comes after the reality television star was ordered to rehab. He successfully completed the rehab’s 28-day treatment program in Tennessee and was then ordered to go to his rehab’s halfway house. The judge did allow Edwards to take a “furlough from his year-long jail sentence to go to the rehab and halfway house,” according to the outlet. He remains on that furlough.
In April of this year, the “Teen Mom” star was found unconscious in his truck, with the engine still running, and left in “drive”. According to reports, he allegedly snorted a substance and passed out in the driver’s seat. Luckily, emergency responders got there in time and gave Edwards a mediciation called Narcan, which is used to reverse an opioid overdose.
They ultimately revived him and then brought him to the hospital. This incident occurred just days after he left his first rehab program.
Ryan Edwards is no stranger to trouble as in the past few years, he has been arrested multiple times, one of which included a DUI charge. He was also sentenced to nearly 12 months in jail after he pleaded guilty to harassing Mackenzie.
Ryan Edwards Doses Off In ‘Teen Mom’ Episode
In 2017, a very concerning episode of “Teen Mom” aired, which showed Ryan Edwards dosing off, slurring his words, and not focusing on the road, while he was driving with Mackenzie Edwards.
Following the airing of the episode, the reality TV star told US Weekly, “A little over 30 days ago, I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility. I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better. Without the support of my wife and parents, I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes.”
