  • Paul McCartney has had some unusual encounters due to fame, like welcoming someone who claimed to be Jesus into his home during a recording session.
  • McCartney values fatherhood and serving as a guide for his children, now that they are older, reflecting on the relationships with his four kids.

Paul McCartney is a living legend. As a member of The Beatles, McCartney has contributed to the creation of what is considered to be extremely influential rock music. McCartney has also enjoyed a very successful solo career where he wrote many more hits.

McCartney married his first wife, Linda Eastman, in 1969 and they had three children together.

Among their three children was James Louis McCartney. James has become an accomplished singer-songwriter and musician. He hasn’t shied away from working with his famous father, either. However, while James is active in music and collaborates with his father, he hasn’t invited fame into his life.

In September 1977, James Louis McCartney was born. He is the first son of McCartney and his first wife, Linda Eastman. James has followed in his father’s footsteps and is now known as a successful singer-songwriter and musician.

James worked with McCartney on his solo albums “Flaming Pie” and “Driving Rain.” James not only played guitar and drums on some songs, but he even co-wrote some of the tunes with his dad as well.

James released an EP titled “Available Light” in 2010. He also released “Close at Hand” and “The Complete EP Collection” in 2011. He released his first full album titled “Me” in May 2013. McCartney co-produced the album and sang background vocals on the song “Thinking About Rock and Roll.”

McCartney also co-produced his son’s second album, “The Blackberry Train,” released in 2016.

In 2013, James spoke about going into music with such a strong family history behind him. Although his last name could’ve put a lot of pressure on him, James said that he wasn’t worried about that.

Paul McCartney Revealed The One Song He Wrote That Was Inspired By Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift went from idolizing Paul McCartney to inspiring one of his songs.

“I never really thought of it like that,” James told BBC Breakfast. “I thought I’m not going to be oppressed by certain things, I am just going to carry on and do my own thing.”

In fact, it seems like the fame aspect of his family doesn’t get to him at all. Despite being very active in the music world, James lives a very private life and doesn’t share much about himself with the public.

Paul McCartney Has Said That He Loves Being A Father

McCartney first became a father in 1969 when he adopted his first daughter, Heather. Heather was the daughter of McCartney’s first wife, Linda Eastman. Eastman and McCartney would go on to welcome Mary, Stella, and James together.

When Eastman died of breast cancer in April 1998, McCartney was heartbroken. He would later discuss his grief during an interview with the BBC.

“I think I cried for about a year on and off. You expect to see them walk in, this person you love, because you are so used to them. I cried a lot,” McCartney said. “It was almost embarrassing except it seemed the only thing to do.”

The loss was painful for McCartney, but not unfamiliar. When McCartney was 14, he lost his mother to breast cancer as well.

“Both my mum and Linda died of breast cancer. We had no idea what my mum had died of because no-one talked about it. She just died,” he said.

McCartney continued, “The worst thing about that was everyone was very stoic, everyone kept a stiff upper lip and then one evening you’d hear my dad crying in the next room. It was tragic because we’d never heard him cry.”

In October 2003, McCartney welcomed his daughter Beatrice with his second wife, Heather Mills. McCartney married his current wife, Nancy Shevell, in 2011. His children are grown up now and McCartney has reflected on their relationship.

What Happened Between Michael Jackson And Paul McCartney?

A rift developed between Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney after Jackson bought The Beatles’ catalog.

“I’ve always just tried to give my kids a bit of guidance if they seem to need it — but that was mainly when they were younger,” McCartney once wrote on his website. “Now that they are older, they’re guiding me!”

He continued, “They don’t need so much guidance these days but if there’s ever a problem, I’m very happy to be the guy they come to … So, that’s largely the thing of being a dad. You’re just there to help, and I suppose have fun with — we do have a lot of fun. Now they’re older, we can have a drink together, for instance!”

In 2009, McCartney told The Telegraph, “I love being a dad.”

Paul Had Some Creepy Encounters With People Which Showed Him The Downsides Of Fame

Although McCartney has taken fame in stride, he has experienced some creepy encounters with others. These encounters might have given him a glimpse at the darker side of being a public figure.

When McCartney was being interviewed on The Howard Stern Show in 2018, he told a story that most people find unbelievable.

The year was 1967 and The Beatles were busy recording their “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album at McCartney’s townhouse in London. McCartney heard someone come to the door and said, “Yeah? What do you want?”

McCartney saw a bearded man who answered sincerely, “I’m Jesus.”

“You better come in,” McCartney answered.

McCartney’s answer was surprising, given that he was a huge rock star and a total stranger happened to find where he was living.

When Stern pressed McCartney further, particularly about security concerns, the rock icon said that wasn’t a concern for people in those days.

McCartney also said that while he didn’t believe the man was truly Jesus, he also didn’t know for sure. He said that if there was a chance this was the real Jesus Christ, McCartney didn’t want to be the one to reject him.

“Look, he says he’s Jesus,” McCartney recalled himself telling his bandmates. “Now, I don’t know if he is, or isn’t but I’m not gonna take any chances here.”

The band agreed the man could sit in on the recording session as long as he was quiet. According to Rolling Stone, the bearded man was present at the session for the song “Fixing a Hole.”

Paul McCartney Was Devastated After He Lost The Publishing Rights To Over 251 Songs Because Of One Iconic Artist

Paul McCartney told Howard Stern about an unexpected twist with a certain artist over his past work.

“Shhh don’t say a word, just be Jesus,” McCartney told him.

A year prior, John Lennon made a comment during an interview with the London Evening Standard that caused the band to receive backlash when it was reprinted in America.

“We’re more popular than Jesus now,” Lennon jokingly said.

It’s unclear if the bearded man’s visit was a response to the quote or if it was a mere coincidence.
