Cowboys’ Mike McCarthy rips ex-offensive coordinator’s philosophy: ‘I wish to run the rattling ball’

Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy made it completely clear the place he differed in philosophies with former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore on the NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday.

McCarthy took over as head coach earlier than the beginning of the 2020 season. The Cowboys had been 14th in yards gained and seventeenth in factors scored that season as they completed 6-10. McCarthy added he thought Prescott wanted a “new voice” shifting ahead.

The Cowboys employed Brian Schottenheimer, who had served as an offensive coordinator for the New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Seattle Seahawks. The 2008 Jets and the Seahawks’ offensive from 2018-2020 had been the one groups that completed within the prime 10 in factors scored.

Moore took the Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive coordinator job.
