EXCLUSIVE: Olivia Attwood lands biggest TV job of her career hosting new ITV dating show which rules her out of I’m A Celeb comeback this year

Olivia Attwood’s dreams of appearing on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! are over, MailOnline can reveal.

The former Love Island star, 32, was hotly tipped to feature in this year’s series after she was forced to quit the jungle in 2022 over a sudden health scare.

But MailOnline can reveal the documentary maker won’t be returning to Australia for the upcoming season after landing the biggest TV job of her career hosting a new ITV dating show.

The presenter, who has made a name for herself not only on reality TV but filming documentaries that explore the world of selling sex online, has been offered a six-figure deal to front the series, predicted to be the next big thing since Love Island.

Due to her forthcoming filming schedule, Olivia will not be able to return to I’m A Celeb after she was left ‘devastated’ when last year the results of a routine medical test showed she had ‘dangerously low potassium levels.’

A source told MailOnline: ‘Olivia was so upset when she had to suddenly leave the jungle last year… everyone saw how incredibly disappointed she was.

‘She had been in discussions with ITV to return to I’m A Celeb for months, both sides wanted it to work because it was unfair that her time on the show was cut so short when it was always her dream to take part.

‘But the opportunity to front a brand-new dating show on ITV came along and she jumped at the chance.

‘The show is tipped to be the next big dating series since Love Island but centred more around exploring relationships, so it is a real full circle moment for Olivia.

‘She adores presenting but also loves reality television and has never forgotten the platform that Love Island has given her… this new role perfectly marries the two.’

After rising to fame on Love Island in 2017, Olivia’s career has gone from strength to strength.

From landing her own reality show Meets Her Match to filming documentary series Getting Filthy Rich, Olivia has quickly emerged as one of ITV’s golden girls.

In recent months she has joined Loose Women as a panelist starring alongside the likes of Christine Lampard, Ruth Langsford, and Brenda Edwards.

At the Edinburgh TV Festival in August, she was named as one of the channel’s ‘faces of the future’ by Head of TV and ITV2 boss Paul Mortimer, who even branded her ‘the new Cilla Black.’

He said: ‘She was one of the standout Love Islanders a few years ago and has gone on, via TOWIE and her own reality show and some brilliant immersive docs.

‘She, I would vouch, is the face of the future. She’s a great talent who is being nurtured by ITV and working her way slowly through the ranks. Inevitably I believe she will be the new Cilla Black.’

But her time in Australia was shorted lived after a medical where she underwent a blood test showed that she was anaemic, causing concern among producers.

After being hurried to a local hospital, it was deemed too risky for Olivia to return to the jungle, where camp mates compete in gruelling trials and survive off rations.

She was forced to deny speculation that she was pregnant or had contracted Covid after the internet was rife with rumours over why she had been suddenly removed from the show.

This year the lineup reportedly includes This Morning host Josie Gibson, former rugby ace Danny Cipriani and Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson.

MailOnline has contacted Olivia’s representative and ITV for comment.
