Liverpool predicted lineup vs Leicester

Liverpool have been scoring goals for fun so far in pre-season as their two games against Karlsruher and Greuter Furth have yielded four goals each. Darwin Nunez has been particularly impressive, along with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo.

Much of the attention is on the midfield for Liverpool as they have lost Jordan Henderson and Fabinho has stayed behind to secure his move to Al Ittihad. Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are also back in Liverpool for fitness reasons, so that is why Trent Alexander Arnold is expected to be in the midfield.

Liverpool seem as though they will be devastating going forward again next season, so that is what Leicester must be careful of in Singapore. Here are the players that Jurgen Klopp is likely to choose at the National Stadium on Sunday morning.

Darwin Nunez

GK: Alisson – There is little say about Alisson at this stage. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and will remain Liverpool’s number one for a very long time.

RB: Joe Gomez – Due to the need to put Alexander-Arnold into the midfield, Joe Gomez may find himself getting a start at right-back for the first time in a while.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – This is the centre-back partnership that Jurgen Klopp and his team are the most settled with so there is little reason to think that he will stray from Konate here.

CB: Virgil van Dijk – After a disjointed season in which Van Dijk did not show his best form, he will want to remind everyone why he is one of the best defenders in the world.

LB: Andy Robertson – Similar to Alisson, Robertson is firmly entrenched in his left-back position at Liverpool and Kostas Tsimikas has not been able to oust him.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – Given Liverpool are working on more midfield arrivals, Alexis Mac Allister needs to take every chance to show Jurgen Klopp why he should start the first Premier League game of the season.

CM: Trent Alexander-Arnold – Fans really enjoyed seeing Alexander-Arnold play more of a midfield role towards the end of the season and for England, and they should get to see it again here.

CM: Dominik Szoboszlai – Much like Mac Allister, Szoboszlai must show his worth to the coach as quickly as he can. Having missed the last friendly, the Hungarian is making up for lost time.

RW: Mohamed Salah – Salah has already scored once in pre-season and Klopp will be desperate to get a relationship brewing between Salah and the other newer forwards at the club.

ST: Darwin Nunez – Having netted three times in pre-season already, Nunez is a man on a mission. He wants to start in the middle when the Premier League begins.

LW: Luis Diaz – Having missed so much of last season with an injury, Diaz is another Liverpool player keen to remind everyone why he is so crucial to the system.
