Man United: Erik ten Hag has ‘had ENOUGH time’, claims Tim Howard

Erik ten Hag hasn’t changed tactics despite ‘having ENOUGH time,’ claims ex-Red Devil Tim Howard as he slates him for not ‘hooking’ someone in first-half Brentford implosion… while NBC pundit Robbie Earle labels club ‘a traveling CIRCUS’

  • Manchester United’s Premier League nightmare continued against Brentford
  • The Red Devils were 4-0 down against the Bees within 35 minutes on Saturday
  • Tim Howard claimed boss Erik ten Hag has had enough time to solve their woes
  • Robbie Earle said he felt sorry for United fans having to watch a ‘traveling circus’

Manchester United was branded a ‘traveling circus’ by Robbie Earle as Tim Howard claimed manager Erik ten Hag has ‘had enough time’ to solves the Red Devils’ woes.

United’s Premier League nightmare continued Saturday against Brentford as the side imploded during a shambolic first half to head into the break 4-0 down.

During half time, Earle claimed United was far from the ‘box office’ expected of it as he slammed the organization and management of the club.

On NBC, he said: ‘I feel sorry for Manchester United fans. We talked before the game about Manchester United being box office, about people wanting to come see them. I can tell you right now it’s a travelling circus.

‘There’s so many things that are wrong at this football club. and it’s highlighted by the two teams they’ve played so far, Brighton and a half against Brentford.

‘Teams that are better on the pitch in what they do and better in organization. Teams that are better run and better management at the football club than Manchester United at the moment.

‘There’s no cohesion, no understanding, there’s no pattern of play and when the manager sits there and doesn’t do anything, make a change, chuck Varane on and go three at the back, at least show something that you’re not happy with what’s going on.’

Co-pundit Howard echoed the thoughts, claiming there was no change in the poor play that saw United scramble a sixth-place finish last season.

The former Red Devils shotstopper admitted Ten Hag had needed time but claimed the United boss had had more than enough and now needed to put his players ‘on notice’.

‘Well said Robbie, I couldn’t agree more,’ said Howard. ‘The manager has had enough time. He’s had preseason, a couple of games and he’s had time to work with his team.

‘We don’t really see anything different from a tactical standpoint than we saw last year.

‘I know he needs time but then again in this particular game, yes, I would’ve liked to have seen someone hooked in the middle of the first half whether it be a center half or a midfielder. Make a change, let everybody know, put them on notice.’

It took just 10 minutes for Ten Hag’s side to fall behind after Josh Dasilva’s strike from range squirmed through a diving David de Gea, and the lead was doubled just eight minutes later by Mathias Jensen, who pounced on a defensive error.

The hosts then went four up after further goals from Ben Mee on 30 minutes and Bryan Mbeumo after 35 minutes, both of which were teed up by Ivan Toney, as the Bees set up what is surely an insurmountable lead by the half-time whistle.
