Mets’ Max Scherzer assessments MLB’s pitch clock, will get known as for balk

Major League Baseball’s new pitch clock is creating some fascinating conditions. 

On Friday, New York Mets pitcher Max Scherzer was known as for a balk as he tried to quick-pitch in opposition to the Washington Nationals.

In the third inning, Scherzer was pitching to Victor Robles when the Nationals heart fielder known as time. Scherzer stayed on the rubber and threw a pitch as quickly because the umpire signaled for the pitch clock to reset.

The pitch clock provides pitchers 30 seconds in between batters to ship to the plate, 15 seconds in between pitches with the bases empty, and 20 seconds in between pitches with runners on base.  

On Thursday, New York Yankees reliever Wandy Peralta struck out infielder Tucupita Marcano within the backside of the second, throwing three strikes in about 20 seconds to finish the inning.

“Max and a number of veteran pitchers and pitchers typically are going to make use of this time to check some issues and make some changes,” Mets supervisor Buck Showalter stated. “Everybody up right here is searching for a aggressive edge — hitters, pitchers, catchers — and it is a good time to be testing these issues.”
