The NBA has handed down its punishments ensuing from Thursday night time’s altercation between Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dillon Brooks of the Memphis Grizzlies.
The league introduced Friday that Brooks has been suspended one recreation with out pay, and Mitchell fined $20,000.

“After lacking a layup and falling to the ground, Brooks initiated the altercation by putting Mitchell within the groin space in an unsportsmanlike method,” the NBA stated Friday. “Mitchell then escalated the state of affairs by throwing the sport ball at and pushing Brooks, after which each gamers continued to bodily interact with each other.

Both Mitchell and Brooks had been ejected within the third quarter of Cleveland’s win after Brooks hit the Cavs’ guard within the groin following a missed layup.

Mitchell ripped Brooks in his postgame press convention, calling the sixth-year professional a grimy participant.

Brooks declined to handle the altercation following the sport, however teammate Ja Morant did weigh in.
