Castrol invites Arsenal fan to hand out Premier League Game Changer of the Season award for 2022/23

Castrol gave an Arsenal fan the opportunity to hand the Premier League Game Changer of the Season award to Reiss Nelson.

The Premier League Castrol Game Changer of the Season award is given to the player with the single most game-changing performance over the course of the campaign, with Nelson winning the trophy thanks to his stunning 97th minute goal against Bournemouth in the midst of Arsenal’s title challenge.

The Gunners had been 2-0 down in the game against Bournemouth, but were able to complete a dramatic late turnaround thanks to a brilliant goal from Nelson.

During the Premier League Game Changer of the Season award voting process, fans who voted were entered into a draw with the winner being given the opportunity to hand out the award to its recipient.

Mohamed from Abu Dhabi was the lucky winner, and Castrol sent the avid Arsenal fan to the Premier League clash between the Gunners and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in order to give the award to Nelson.

Speaking about the experience, Mohamed said: “I saw a tweet from Arsenal to vote for the Castrol Game Change of the Season award. I saw that and I was like, ok, I have to vote for Reiss [Nelson]. That was a crazy moment.”

“Whenever you vote for something you always see that you have the opportunity to win the award, but you never think you’re going to be the person that wins. That’s why when I got the call that I won the contest I had not fully processed that. I didn’t believe the person but I was so, so excited.”

“The fact that it was an all-expenses paid trip, a chance to watch Arsenal vs United with my brother in London in the hospitality package, and then also the fact that I got to give the trophy to Reiss – that was just the cherry on top.

“It was a once in a lifetime experience, I have to really thank Castrol for this really brilliant opportunity. It was just perfect from start to finish.”
