Tom Brady jokes his family, kids ‘would kill’ him if he unretired again

Tom Brady joked his family “would kill” him if he ever returned to the NFL again.

“I am not coming out of retirement,” the former quarterback said during Monday’s episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast.

“My parents would call, my kids would call. They’d kill me. I wouldn’t be around by tonight.”

Brady shut down the possibility after guest Mr. Beast suggested that the Super Bowl champion’s podcast ratings would “take off” if he announced his return to football again.

However, co-host Jim Gray pointed out that the athlete “already did that once” when he came back for another season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shortly after announcing his retirement in February 2022.

“As I said, you’re only allowed one unretirement. And I’ve used it up,” Brady chimed in.

The NFL star, 46, officially left professional football in February — a year after his highly publicized return to the field allegedly sparked his split from Gisele Bündchen.

At the time, an insider explained, “There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids.

“They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”

The former couple, who share daughter Vivian, 10, and son Benjamin, 13, finalized their divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.

At the time, the Brazilian supermodel, 43, revealed that she and Brady had “grown apart.”

Brady added that he’s only allowed one unretirement, which he cashed in last year.

Only a month before, Bündchen recalled asking Brady “over and over again” to “more present” with his family amid his football career.

“I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [my husband],” she told Elle in September 2022. “I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams.

“Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing him succeed, and being fulfilled in his career — it makes me happy,” she continued.

His return to the field allegedly led to his split from Gisele Bündchen.

Those issues seemed to go back years as Brady told Howard Stern in 2020 that Bündchen was unsatisfied with the effort he was putting in at home.

“[She] didn’t feel like I was doing my part,” he explained. “She felt like I would play football all season and she would take care of the house. She wasn’t satisfied with our marriage.”

Following their divorce, the duo has maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship while dividing time with their two kids. The retired athlete also shares 16-year-old son, Jack, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
