Edmonton police stated Thursday that two patrol officers had been killed whereas responding to a name.
Police didn’t instantly launch any particulars about what occurred. Police chief Dale McFee was anticipated to make a press release later Thursday.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted his condolences and help to the officers’ family members and colleagues.

“Every day, law enforcement officials put themselves in hurt’s method to hold folks protected. The information that two Edmonton law enforcement officials have been killed within the line of responsibility reminds us of that actuality” Trudeau wrote.
In response to the deaths, the Edmonton Police Commission canceled a public assembly that had been deliberate for Thursday.
Police providers in Calgary, Vancouver the Greater Toronto Area and Halifax expressed condolences on Twitter.
