Crunchyroll’s Expanded Language Offerings: Tamil & Telugu Dub for Darling in the FRANXX
Multilingual Streaming Delight
To enhance the linguistic variety offered on the platform, the most recent additions are the first two episodes of DARLING in the FRANXX in Tamil and Telugu. Crunchyroll’s dedication to provide anime to viewers with a variety of linguistic choices was further demonstrated in November 2022 when it released Hindi and Indian English dubs for the same anime.
A Peek into DARLING in the FRANXX
DARLING in the FRANXX is an original science-fiction anime produced by Studio Trigger and A-1 Pictures, for those who are not familiar with it. In the bleak future depicted in the story, people flee to the movable fort city of Plantation. The kids, called pilots, live in Mistilteinn, also called the “birdcage,” inside this little area. Their lives consist of controlling Franxx robots and fighting against enormous monsters known as Kyōryū, with little knowledge of the outside world.
The Struggle for Existence
The main character of the narrative is Hiro, code-named Code:016; previously hailed as a prodigy, he now struggles with a feeling of being out of date. Piloting a Franxx is the equivalent of being alive in this civilization, and those who do not take part run the chance of disappearing completely. When Hiro meets “Zero Two,” an enigmatic girl with two unusual horns on her head, his life takes an unexpected turn.
Creative Visionaries Behind the Scenes
Atsushi Nishigori is the series director and Toshifumi Akai is assistant director, making DARLING in the FRANXX a highly talented creative team. The composing team of Nishigori and Naotaka Hayashi on the series gives the narrative more nuance. The anime’s visual complexity is enhanced by the character and mechanical designs created by Masayoshi Tanaka and Shigeto Koyama. The action scenes are masterfully supervised by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and the opening theme, “Kiss of Death,” beautifully rendered by Mika Nakashima and HYDE, adds even more appeal to the whole moviegoing experience.
In keeping with its commitment to accessibility and diversity, Crunchyroll decided to provide Tamil and Telugu dubs for DARLING in the FRANXX. Fans may look forward to more varied content and an enhanced anime-watching experience as the platform works to address linguistic barriers.
