Elderly girl in London struck by police bike escorting UK royal

A girl in her 80s was in crucial situation after being hit by a police bike that was escorting Sophie, the spouse of Prince Edward, British police stated Thursday.

The Metropolitan Police stated the bike collided with a pedestrian on Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in west London.

Sophie, often known as the Duchess of Edinburgh, stated her “heartfelt ideas and prayers are with the injured woman and her household,” in response to a press release from Buckingham Palace.

The assertion added that Sophie was “grateful for the swift response by the emergency companies.” It stated additional remark could be inappropriate as a result of the crash was being investigated.

Sophie, 58, is a full-time working royal married to Edward, the youthful brother of King Charles III.

The girl remained in crucial situation at a hospital on Thursday. No different accidents have been reported and police inquiries into the crash have been ongoing.
