Guadeloupe authorities fights ‘large-scale’ cyberattack on its networks

The French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe is preventing what it calls a “large-scale” cyberattack on its laptop networks.

The authorities is working with an unidentified specialised agency to restrict the implications of the assault because it tries to revive its techniques as quickly as attainable, officers mentioned Monday.

An announcement warning of the assault remained posted on the federal government’s important web site on Tuesday.

It wasn’t instantly clear if the hackers had been demanding a ransom and what authorities providers may need been affected.

 

A spokeswoman for the federal government didn’t instantly reply to an electronic mail in search of remark.
