Putin orders momentary ceasefire in Ukraine in remark of Orthodox Christmas

Russia President Vladimir Putin on Thursday allegedly known as on Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to order a ceasefire in Ukraine in remark of Orthodox Christmas.

“Given the attraction of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, I instruct the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation to introduce a ceasefire regime alongside the complete line of contact between the events in Ukraine from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7,” an announcement from the Kremlin chief stated based on Russian media outlet RIA.

According to Putin, the Russian Orthodox bishop known as for a Christmas truce in order that the “Orthodox folks can attend companies on Christmas Eve and on the day of the Nativity of Christ.”
