New details are emerging amid Jeremy Allen White and Addison Timlin’s ongoing split, including what led to the actress to file for divorce from the Shameless star. As per a new report, Jeremy’s drinking and unwillingness to get help led Addison to pull the plug on their marriage, despite sharing two young daughters.
Jeremy’s Drinking Allegedly Ruined His Marriage
“Addison’s not getting into details, but she’s seen some red flags when Jeremy has a few too many, and she doesn’t want him drinking or drunk around the children,” a source told Life and Style. “She’s just being a cautious mom.”
Jeremy and Addison married in 2019 and share daughters Ezer, 4, and Dolores, 2. The pair knew each other for over a decade after tying the knot after meeting while filming 2008’s Afterschool.
For now, Jeremy hasn’t publicly commented on the ongoing divorce not the custody agreement he and Addison recently agreed to, which subjects him to mandatory alcohol testing in order to see his kids. According to the source, Jeremy isn’t challenging the court’s requirements. “Jeremy will do whatever it takes to abide by the custody agreement,” they said.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Jeremy must Soberlink device when visiting his daughters. This device can test for his sobriety using breathalyzer technology and can immediately transmit the test outcomes to designated individuals in real-time.
He’ll apparently have to wear the device during visitations with his kids on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Jeremy Could Lose Custody If He Doesn’t Follow Court Orders
Moreover, Jeremy is also required to participate in a minimum of two Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings a week in addition to attending individual therapy sessions at least once a week. His estranged wife is also requiring proof of attendance within three days of the therapy sessions and meetings.
The consequences for violating the stipulations of the custody agreement could be detrimental to Jeremy’s relationship with his girls. Should he receive a positive alcohol test result, his custody could be temporarily suspended until his and Addison’s legal team could decide on a course of action moving forward.
Addison first filed for divorce in May, though it hasn’t been finalized yet. She’s been relatively quiet on the details of their break-up, but Addison did make a candid post the same month she filed for divorce in which she discussed the challenges of being a single mom to two kids.
“Being a single mom is not how I pictured it,” the actress wrote. “It is so f—ing hard. It is all out covered in s— crying on the floor kick you in the shins screaming with no sound coming out hard. It’s not the natural order of things.”
For his part, Jeremy has already moved on, romantically speaking. The actor is currently dating model Ashley Moore, who he was linked to soon after Addison’s decision to divorce. The pair were first spotted making out in August.
