Andre Braugher’s Cause Of Death Is So Sad

Andre Braugher’s character on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” has made people roll over in laughter. You probably can’t imagine the show without him, but in reality the actor was terrified of taking on a comedic role. Before the smash hit series, Braugher was mostly known as a dramatic actor. He had serious roles in his career, including starring in the Civil War-based film “Glory” and playing a stern police detective on “Homicide: Life on the Streets,” per People. So, taking on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was a complete leap in his career, and the actor was frightened.

During a 2020 interview with Variety, Braugher revealed that he was questioning whether he was funny enough leading up to “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” He shared, “I remember turning to my wife and asking her, ‘Is this funny?’ And she said, ‘Yes, of course, you’re not being deceived.’ But I kept looking at it, saying to myself, is this good? I couldn’t really judge.”

Although it was scary suddenly transitioning to comedy, Braugher revealed to “Today” in 2015 that challenging himself allowed him to become a better actor. He shared, “I feel as though my mind is expanding, my capabilities as an actor, my ability to mind the comedy is really rising up for the first time in my life, so I’m really happy about this stage — being a part of the show.” By taking on the show, Braugher proved there was nothing he couldn’t do.
