Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell had fans in a frenzy as she shared a shimmy with Gladiators star Nitro after the launch of the BBC reboot of the 1990s classic. Nitro, whose real name is Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, donned his spandex stage suit as the pair made moves together, and Dianne jokily branded him “the dancing Gladiator”.
In video footage uploaded to her one million followers, Dianne advised him to give dancer vibes by looking “really awkward, the more awkward the better”. He replied spiritedly: “I’m light on my feet, you know. I can do this!” and Dianne responded by christening him “twinkle toes”.
The footage sparked frenzy from fans, who now have a Gladiators-Strictly crossover on their minds. @princessroseelliott enthused: “Love it! It’s a 10 from me! Get him on next season and [he] should be partnered up with you!”
“Ooh you two look good together, Strictly beckons Harry AA?” @dee_elle6 chimed in. “Make this happen!!!!!” urged an excited @mrsowers86, while @buswe1l added: “Iconic 10s all across!!”
“Her smile says it all,” @ard_one exclaimed. Naturally, this isn’t the first time that Dianne’s dancing collaborations have caused a stir.
Despite being happily loved up with her YouTuber boyfriend Joe Sugg, her chemistry with Bobby Brazier on this year’s Strictly had everyone talking.
Dianne was adamant that their chemistry was purely stage theatrics, but EastEnders star Bobby made it clear that his affection was real, describing her as “the love of my life” in a recent TikTok video.
He baked home-made carrot muffins for her last week after spending £40 on ingredients in Waitrose and delivered them by hand when the pair joined forces to rehearse for the Strictly tour.
He also described her as being like a “big sister” to him, referencing the 14-year-age gap between them.
Meanwhile, Bobby proved to be supportive when Dianne discovered her dad had cancer during the filming of the show.
Joe and Dianne recently took a trip to her native Australia, lazing contentedly on the beach together before “losing” their tans as they dashed back to chilly Britain.
However, there’s no doubt that fans would love to see a collab between herself and Nitro if the opportunity comes up later in the year.
