Strictly: It Takes Two host Janette Manrara has taken to Instagram to “vent” about her exhausting schedule just months after giving birth. The BBC opened up about the struggles in her home life in view of her 599,000 followers yesterday.

Janette welcomed her firstborn, a daughter named Lyra Rose, with husband and fellow former Strictly pro Aljaž Škorjanec back in July. The star has since been juggling motherhood, dance and presenting – all while having to travel around the country.

Taking to Instagram story, Janette told her fans: “Hi team, I’ve got a couple of minutes. I haven’t done this in a while so I thought, ‘Get it in while you can.’

“Lyra’s asleep; she’s having a little snooze,” she continued. “Aljaž and I are off to Nottingham tonight for Dancing in a Winter Wonderland and I’m going on to London from there.

“I’ve got It Takes Two Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the finalist press conference on Wednesday morning,” she added. “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe the final is here already. What a series.”

Janette then went on to admit: “The last few weeks have seriously been a whirlwind. I feel like I don’t have enough hours in the day to do everything.

“I’m so grateful my mum’s been here to help ease everything for Aljaž and me, but life has lately been just coming home in the middle of the night, getting an hour or two of sleep, unpacking, repacking, getting on the road again… It’s been madness.

“But last week, and then rest!” she added, before sending her love.

In another update, she confessed: “I just wanted to vent for a second. Sleep is one of the most beautiful things in the world.

“If you are able to get some in this day and age, I highly suggest that you sleep, if you can.

A tired-looking Janette started laughing, before adding: “Also, if you love watching films or digging into a Netflix series and just binge watching while you order some food, do it while you can.

“Sleep, movies and Netflix,” she reiterated. “I miss those things in my life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Take your vitamins, drink water, take deep breaths and then it’s all okay.”

Strictly: It Takes Two airs tonight at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
