When Young Sheldon season 7 began, fans were excited to see a different, more mature Missy Cooper, but as the season plays out, Missy appears to be falling back into her old, rebellious habits. Following the devastating tornado during the season 6 finale, Missy promised her dad she would be better, and things really turned around for the 13-year-old when her mom and twin brother were away in Germany, as she took on the motherly role of the household.
However, when Mary and Sheldon returned home from Germany, Missy Cooper once again found herself overlooked in the family dynamics and easily falling back into her impulsive behaviors. The Cooper’s neighbor, Billy Sparks, makes his first season 7 appearance and with it, viewers see the start of a more troubled side to Raegan Revord’s Young Sheldon character.
The fifth episode of Young Sheldon season 7, titled “A Frankenstein’s Monster and a Crazy Church Guy,” has Missy Cooper buying beer for a party she’s throwing at Billy Sparks’ house while his mom is away.
Young Sheldon Season 7 Bonds Missy Cooper And Billy Sparks With A Party And Beer
Missy Cooper, wanting to watch MTV, finds herself visiting Billy Sparks, played by Wyatt McClure, to borrow his TV since her mom is using theirs. After learning Billy’s mom, Brenda Sparks, is away for a few days, Missy convinces Billy they should throw a party.

fans will remember this isn’t the first time Billy’s naivety has been taken advantage by Missy. In season 5, Billy is heartbroken after asking Missy out and being harshly turned down. In Season 6, Missy invites Billy to the movies after he’s the butt of a cruel joke, but ultimately ditches him to attend a party thrown by the girl who tried to prank Billy. And Billy himself mentions in this season 7 episode that he once drank a gallon of milk for a dollar at Missy’s request.
While Missy’s character arc was on the up and up in Young Sheldon season 7, reuniting with Billy Sparks brings back Missy’s reckless and manipulative side. After compelling Billy to throw a party with her, she explains to him that they’ll need beer.
On the hunt for some beer, Missy first asks Georgie, who surprisingly turns her down, stating she is too young and shouldn’t be drinking, and he instead gives her a box of fireworks for her party. Missy then turns to Mandy, who also refuses to buy the beer, but gives her a ton of “useful” party advice.
With no other option, Missy takes Billy with her to wait outside a liquor store and ask strangers to buy them alcohol. After being rejected twice, it is Billy who ultimately goes into the Mini Mart and purchases Missy the beer for the party. Due to Billy’s large stature and ability to make his voice deep, he is able to pass as an adult.
Missy Gets Away With Drinking And Partying In Young Sheldon Season 7
While fans enjoyed seeing the more mature side of Missy Cooper at the beginning of Young Sheldon season 7, it didn’t ultimately make sense for her overall character journey. In The Big Bang Theory, Missy is portrayed as someone who has gone through more than one rough patch in life, and Georgie describes her as “just a dumb teenager.”
Seeing Missy continue down this rebellious path during season 7 is highly likely, especially since not a single adult stopped her from throwing that party at Billy Sparks’ house, and she was even encouraged by Billy’s mom.
