Christy Carlson Romano is famously known for her role on the Disney show Even Stevens and the voice character of Kim Possible. Although Christy Carlson Romano is less successful than her co-star Shia LaBeouf, she has carved a niche as a podcast host. Her podcast, Vulnerable, is a space where the former child stars/guests with similar trajectories talk about their experiences.

Regardless of Christy Carlson Romano’s love for podcasting and sharing, sometimes it does not resonate with everyone. The former Even Stevens cast member has been called out for her bad behavior in handling guests during and after the show, and generally not having basic hosting etiquette.

Viewers and listeners of Christy Carlson Romano’s podcast Vulnerable are calling out the former child star for having bad manners towards guests during and after her podcast episodes.

In a Reddit subgroup, Christy Carlon Romano’s bad behavior during her podcasts was discussed.

Most comments were unfavorable towards Romano, with a comment stating Christy Carlson Romano looks and sounds like an attention seeker, talking over people and not paying attention.

Some others shared the same sentiments, citing that she looked fake, and she was fishing for reactions and clickbaiting her audience. Others noted that she was trying to capitalize off nostalgia from her Disney days since she didn’t do so well with her YouTube platform.

Another comment likened her to wanting desperately to get former child stars with controversial takes or experiences so that she could monetize them. When some of those stars started coming out about their abusive experiences, she pivoted to a podcast where the majority of her guests are child stars or other celebrities who have been vocal about the abuse they faced in the industry.

However, Romano doesn’t seem concerned. In an interview with Vulture, Christy Carlson Romano shared she wasn’t afraid of capitalizing on former child actors’ traumas.

“I realized if you don’t create value, your videos won’t be seen. You won’t be able to grow. So my husband and I — we’re producing partners — were just like,
Let’s give the people what they want.
I teased and clickbaited, but I didn’t clickbait traditionally. I said these crazy things, but then I unpacked it. I call it “making the kids eat their vegetables”; they come for the tea, but then they get something more.”

How Christy Carlson Romano Lost ‘Princess Diaries’ To Anne Hathaway

“I wanted to do this audition so badly. I don’t know why, but I just knew it could be a big deal for me. I didn’t get that audition,” Christy shared.

“I’m going to give you the goods on what you’re trying to get from a reality show, but I’m doing it through my camera that I own rather than some production company making me work for them,” Romano explained.

This certainly worked for her because Romano got interesting content from her podcast. However, viewers can spot that she is being fake with her responses and sometimes going for a particular shocking angle that often covers the essence of the podcast.

Many have noticed her ‘wasted potential’ in doing something meaningful with her platform: being the voice of child stars that are neglected by Hollywood.

While all these are viewers’ sentiments about what Christy Carlson Romano does on her podcast Vulnerable, they did applaud them for bringing in some people that could shed light on something new about her guests.

Zoey 101 alum Alexa Nikolas called out Christy Carlson Romano in a lengthy YouTube video for being a predator apologist.

Nikolas had previously opened up about her experiences on studio sets on Romano’s Vulnerable, including a pregnant Britney Spears yelling at her on the set of Zoey 101. The podcast episode was well received and became one of the most shocking reveals on Christy Carlson Romano’s podcast.

However, things quickly went south when Nikolas accused Romano of siding with an alleged predator, Cory Feldman, by hosting him as a guest and also being insulted on one of the podcasts Romano produces, Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide.

Chrity Carlson Romano went on to take down the episode of Nikolas on her platform and block Alexa Nikolas, starting an outcry from Alexa Nikolas, who felt Romano had left “survivors on read.”

Christy Carlson Romano Admits She Didn’t Get Along With Co-Star Shia LaBeouf While Filming Disney’s ‘Even Stevens’

‘We literally, me and Shia, had David Hasselhoff’s dressing room split in half so that we each had a side,’ the former Disney star divulged.

Christy Carlson Romano did not address the issue and viewers were upset. They felt Romano should have handled the situation better by not taking down Nikolas’ episode and mediating.

Romano received a backlash from fans of Nikolas and viewers of Vulnerable because it was unfair to Nikolas, who had trusted Romano and her podcast to tell her story. Some also stated that Romano did not have loyalty towards Alex Nikolas, who brought traffic to her show and gave her a much-needed boost.

Although Christy Carlson Romano does have a way of getting under people, according to her viewers, she has shown that she does understand some sensitivities. Christy Carlson Romano’s Vulnerable was able to become a place of big reveals by child stars.

Vulnerable was a way for me to start talking to other people about their mental health journeys, and from there, it’s just blown up,” Christy Carlson Romano said in an exclusive with TheThings.

“We’re trying to deliver on positive memories of the past, that are really empowering,” Christy explained.

The Kim Possible star had drifted from child star to YouTuber to podcaster. However, she has found a calling for podcast hosting because of its duality and the gap it bridges with personal space.

Christy Carlson Romano once blew $1 million in one year and knows how it feels to be left without choices. That’s why she created a platform that would speak about the life of former child stars and how they survived.

Has Christy Carlson Romano Made Her Net Worth Back After “Blowing” All Her Disney Money?

Christy Carlson Romano revealed how she lost her money but fans still don’t know if she made her fortune back.

And that she has been able to do so because Vulnerable has become a space where former child stars have shared harrowing experiences of the industry. Since launching Vulnerable, she’s gone on to create a network for other former child actors.

Romano partly owns the dynamic podcast network, PodCo, Podcast Company, and has produced podcasts with former child stars as show hosts. PodCo’s current slate includes titles like Wizards of Waverly Pod, Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide, Full House Rewind with Dave Coulier, and Big Name B-tches along with Vulnerable.

While Christy Carlson Romano has created this network for former child stars from famous shows to talk about their experiences, some viewers often think she is performative in her podcast and don’t think she has the best hosting etiquette. Regardless, the backlash is something Romano is willing to face as long as she tells stories as she wants to.
