Kaleb Cooper, Jeremy Clarkson’s farming sidekick on Clarkson’s Farm, has discovered revolving doors thanks to a recent trip to London – and now he wants to bring the technology to his own home. After Jeremy’s viral video showed him transfixed by the mechanism of the doors, he’s now come clean about his desire to have one – or several – of his own.
“People will probably say I must have seen a revolving door before, but I’d never seen one!” he declared earnestly. He added to Metro.co.uk: “I’ve never interacted with all this stuff and it’s amazing. I need one in my house now.”
He also praised how the “amazing” design “keeps the heat inside” – highly desirable for cold winter days in the Oxfordshire countryside. Meanwhile, Kaleb – who has two young kids, two-year-old son Oscar and four-month-old daughter Willa – is aspiring to one day have a farm of his own, to set a good example to the youngsters.
“I think every farmer out there would like their kids to go into the industry they love doing the most,” he exclaimed. Revealing that they’re already fantasising about what it might be like, Kaleb elaborated: “My little boy and even my little girl loves having a [toy] tractor in their hands!”
He joked that he thinks farm toys are “amazing” too, and that he still loves them to this day, aged 25. Meanwhile, revolving doors isn’t the only thing the Amazon Prime star has been discovering on his trips around the country.
Kaleb once vowed he’d never leave the Chipping Norton countryside where he was born and raised, and so far doesn’t own a passport.
However, for his second book, Britain According to Kaleb: The Wonderful World of Country Life, he’s been discovering the “most eccentric rural traditions” around the country and sharing them with readers.
He investigated gravy wrestling in Lancashire and nettle eating in Somerset, while last week he even published footage on Instagram of himself taking a trip to Wales.
The farming contractor revealed he was trying to “conquer his fears” about travelling after rarely straying far from home before.
“Getting brave now coming to Wales,” Kaleb wrote on the app, adding: “It’s training so I’m ready for my tour next year!”
“It’s mindblowing, the different farming away from home!” he continued, before zooming in and laughing about spotting “sheep on top of a cliff”.
“You and Jeremy should do a show travelling to different countries seeing the different farming techniques,” one fan, @john83turnbull, commented.
“It would be good for the world to see real life farming like you guys show on Clarkson’s Farm. Australia needs to be on your list.”
It seems like the sky’s the limit for Sunday Times bestseller Kaleb, whose antics around the UK are already being widely read.
