Soap star Sue Cleaver showed off her dramatic weight loss in a recent Instagram post while attending the Broadcast Awards last week. The Coronation Street star posed alongside ITV’s Daniel Brocklebank and Richard Arnold.
Wearing a long-sleeved black dress, which was buttoned-up to give the illusion of a V-neck, the 60-year-old accompanied the ensemble with a gold necklace and black clutch bag. She captioned the series of images: “Me and my boys…Scrub up well don’t they [sic].”
However, as the dress highlighted her slim physique, it wasn’t long before Sue’s followers complimented her glamorous look. Social media user @hindledawn commented: “Wow you look fantastic.”
@lesleyckarke added: “Omg!!! You totally look amazing Sue [sic].” @Janebowmann66 said: “You all do, but Sue you are looking amazing.”
@Leannep.72 praised the actress by stating: Looking very glamorous.” Loose Women’s Charlene White added: “Look at my gorgeous friend [sic]”.
With @Whittaker6540 commenting: “Sue, you look amazing, fabulous weight loss achieved well done.”
Sue has openly discussed her weight loss in the past and admitted to dropping three stone after making major lifestyle changes, such as giving up alcohol.
Although, in last year’s March issue of Prima magazine, the actress confessed she doesn’t obsess over diets.
At the time, she said: “I lost some weight in the jungle, but I’m not obsessing over diets: life is hard enough!
“There’s always going to be outside pressure and unfair expectations placed on women, but I refuse to get pulled into it.
‘That’s why I’ll never promote anything weight-related, and it’s why I’d always rather compliment somebody on their smile or their outfit, rather than their weight.”
Before the ITV star headed into the I’m A Celebrity jungle back in 2022, it’s she went from a UK size 16 to a size 12 by following the Mediterranean diet.
Speaking about her weight change on the Loose Women panel, the 60-year-old shared she’s looking thinner at the moment due to her being ill.
She commented: “For some reason my metabolism just seems to have changed and because I’m not drinking.”
While discussing the topic, Sue told the panel some compliments surrounding weight loss could be offensive.
The soap star added: “When I’ve lost weight, I can go into a room and someone goes: ‘Oh my God, you look amazing! You’ve lost so much weight!’
“All I will hear is that: ‘You looked like an absolute dog when you were big!’ It’s how we talk about it and how we talk around it, that makes a big difference!”
