During this period, he also appeared in a couple of television series and miniseries such as “Walking Tall” (1977) and “The Blue and the Gray” (1982) respectively.  In 1985, he appeared the neo-noir comedy thriller film “Fletch” where he played the role of a teenager while the movie was directed by Michael Ritchie.

Some of his other TV movies credits include “A Wedding on Walton’s Mountain” (1982), “Mother’s Day on Walton’s Mountain” (1982), “A Day for Thanks on Walton’s Mountain” (1982), “A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion” (1993), “A Walton Wedding” (1995), and “A Walton Easter” (1997).

He made an appearance in “A Walton’s Family Reunion” in 2010 playing himself. Since his final appearance in the “The Waltons” television special, Harper has not been seen acting on television. He did, however, make an appearance in the 2002 television documentary “After They Were Famous” as well as on “The Today Show” as recently as 2011.
