Emma Stone continues to be the current favourite to win Best Actress at this weekend’s Academy Awards, but away from the glittering realm of Hollywood she leads a very quiet life with her husband.
The American actress tied the knot with accomplished director Dave McCary in 2020, four years after they met on Saturday Night Live. In March 2021, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Louise.
The couple rarely share insights into their marriage, only except when they announced their engagement in 2019. Emma and her husband founded the production company Fruit Tree in 2020, which has produced films such as Problemista.
Outside of his work with Saturday Night Live, Dave made his first feature film in 2017 named Brigsby Bear. The indie project was shown at Cannes Critics Week and Sundance Film Festival.
The pair were set to be married in March 2020, but due to the pandemic they were forced to postpone. In September later that year, the couple were spotted wearing matching wedding rings around Los Angeles.
Emma’s rise to Hollywood fame has meant that her net worth is rather impressive. Her initial earnings in films such as House Bunny and Zombieland earned her a serious pay cheque – especially the latter which grossed $102.4 million.
Her rising career landed her an Oscar when she appeared in the 2016 masterpiece that is La La Land. The movie was so successful it raked in a whopping $472 million.
According to a Forbes report, Emma was the highest paid actress in the world in August 2017. According to the publication, she earned $26 million from starring in La La Land alone.
Details of Emma’s earnings from her latest film Poor Things haven’t been disclosed, but it is reported that she garnered $22.5 million playing the lead role of Bella Baxter.
She has also worked with a tonne of brands, including Louis Vuitton in 2017 and her contract was reported to be worth between $6 million and $10 million.
What’s more, she has an impressive way of making more money with her husband as she sold her Malibu house in 2019 for $4.4 million after buying the property for $3.25 million.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Emma’s total net worth for 2023 is a staggering $40 million.
Emma is in contention for Best Actress at the upcoming Oscars this weekend.
