Harry Potter’s Emma Watson reportedly had her car impounded by police when she left her £30,000 Audi parked outside a car park entrance in Stratford-upon-Avon. It is reported that the Hermione Granger actress, 33, failed to see the “no parking” sign before leaving her vehicle and heading into a nearby pub.
A pizza restaurant manager claims they were trapped inside the car park for three-and-a-half hours, after finishing a 12-hour shift.
After failing to find the blue Audi’s owner, the manager called the police who sent a truck to tow the car.
The manager told MailOnline: “I went into every single restaurant in the area asking if anyone owned the car. No one admitted that it was their car so I was forced to call the police so they would move the car and I could get out.
“But when the police started to tow her car away, she came flying out of the pub shouting, ‘That’s my car, that’s my car!’”
The actress was reportedly faced with a fine of £192 to free her car and a further “retention” charge of £26 for every day that the Audi remains at the police pound.
Warwickshire Police confirmed to the aforementioned publication that a blue Audi was “taken away and impounded”.
Emma Watson’s representative has been contacted for comment.
It comes after Emma made a rare admission about her personal life after previously saying she was happy single.
She told Vogue in 2019: “I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’ spiel… It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single]. I call it being self-partnered.”
In a new interview with the magazine, published in December 2023, Emma clarified what she meant by the term “self-partnered”, explaining that it wasn’t “necessarily about celebrating being single”.
She said: “Getting to the point when I was 30, I was realising, ‘Oh, maybe I’ve figured out some things about how to care for myself better – maybe quite well, actually.’ And taking pride in that.”
While Emma largely keeps her romantic life private, she is previously thought to have dated Made In Chelsea’s Francis Boulle in 2008, businessman Leo Robinton from 2019 until 2021, and Phillip Green’s son Brandon from 2021 until 2023.
