The actor said, “I think television is changing in exciting ways. The 13-episode model lends itself to a more serialised format, which is nice and gives writers a chance to breathe some space into it.”

In 2016, he was interviewed by ABC 7 NY and said that he became interested in acting as a teenager who grew up outside New York City. He said, “I was lucky to be in a high school that had a strong, supported theater program that when I got bit by the bug, I had a real place, a real viable place to go and get it done,”

In an interview with News.com.au, Eddie Cahill said that he loved playing Tag on Friends. He shared that he won the role of Tag over Tom Welling, who would go on to play Clark Kent in Smallville.
Cahill talked about the moment when Tag and Rachel kissed for the first time. He said, “What I remember the most (about that scene) was in between all the white knuckling, and there’s an intimacy between you and your scene partner, but then there’s the live audience. They have a lot of connection to the characters on that show and the second you kiss you hear screaming and howling from the crowd of people, which was wild.”

In an interview with The Latch, Cahill said that it’s amazing to think that so many people know him because he appeared on Friends as Tag. He said:
“Hands down this is the one that people recognise me from. It’s really kind of remarkable.”
Cahill also explained that since he was so new to the acting industry, it was nerve-wracking to be on the set of Friends. It must have been a surreal experience, and he was honest about feeling anxious.
He said, “It was thrilling but all of the things that come with thrilling, you know all of the excited anxiety, the white-knuckling of it all — and the curiosity to where the heck I was, I just remember feeling like I was swept off my feet. I was just trying to find the ground. It was brilliant.”
