Tiger Woods still wanted to keep his affair the night before Elin Nordegren smashed his car windows with a golf club.
The interview also took an emotional twist when Arnold Palmer was brought up. He had just passed away at the time of the interview.
“He was one of my heros,” Woods tells Colbert. “We became great friends. Got a chance to win his golf tournament a few times. As I come off the green, to have him give me a great bear hug is something that will always be special to see that photo on the green of us chitchatting.”
Woods continues, “I go and I pick his brain a little and I leave. My coach finds out, says did you pick up the tab if it’s Arnold Palmer. I’m a college student. It’s Arnold Palmer. So he says, well, I don’t know about this. So he calls NC two As, three deem me ineligible. I had to write a check to Arnold Palmer for $25. I was at El Paso for the All American. He had to cash the check, send in a copy, and I was eligible to compete in the all American.”

Tiger Woods’ History With Bill Clinton Might Be More Problematic Than Donald Trump
According to Golf Digest,former President Clinton and Tiger Woods had a problematic history. According to the publication, it all started after Tiger snubbed a certain invite.
“The story, of course, involved Woods declining to attend a 1997 ceremony honoring the late Jackie Robinson, sparking a schism between Clinton and Woods that was later widened by a subsequent Ryder Cup incident in which Clinton walked into the U.S. team’s locker room only to see Tiger walk out.
Golf Digest continues, “Later, Woods refused to have his picture taken with Clinton when the victorious American team visited the White House. For these reasons, Tiger was sure Clinton would never go for it. The ex-president, he insisted, hated him. Woods never let a slight go, and he assumed Clinton operated the same way.”
The golfing experience between the two wasn’t any better, as it was said that Tiger did not treat Clinton with much respect.
“He was really obnoxious,” said the observer. “It was so clear to me that day who Tiger really was. I’ve never seen the president more put off by a person than that experience.”
It seems as though Woods’ relationship with Trump was a friendlier in comparison to his controversies with Clinton.
