The recent allegations that have been leveled against Jacob Elordi came as a surprise to nearly everyone, as the actor’s popularity is currently at an all-time high, with nothing but positive things being said about it. The accusations of assault came from a radio producer named Joshua Fox, from an infamous Australian show called The Kyle & Jackie O Show.

The man then almost immediately went to the police to report an assault, and since details are still being kept confidential, the only version we know so far is Joshua Fox’s account of the situation.

One of the reasons these allegations were so surprising is because, in the many times Jacob Elordi has been seen interacting with fans, he’s been nothing but warm and welcoming, even to complete strangers. That’s not to say that those two things are correlated, though. But the contrast between the alleged assault and the image people have of him contributed to the shock. However, that’s not the reason fans are skeptical about the accusations being true, or why they are angry with how the incident is being reported.
After reading the story in depth, fans pointed out that it was, in fact, the actor who was being harassed. The “joke” that “didn’t land” was producer Joshua Fox asking him for some of his bathwater (a tired joke that is a reference to Saltburn) for Jackie Henderson, one of the members of his show. He gave Jacob Elordi a container that read “Jacob Elordi’s bathwater”, saying “Could I give you this? Jackie wants a birthday present,” the producer said. “Jacob Elordi’s Bath Water. What am I supposed to do with this?” the actor asked, immediately uncomfortable, and Joshua Fox said that he should fill it and bring it back to the studio. Jacob Elordi became even more upset when he saw that the interaction was being recorded. “You’re kidding me… are you filming? Can you not, man, please?” he asked, and it was allegedly when the producer refused that he became violent.
Fans read about the interaction and realized that the actor had been put in an incredibly uncomfortable position, and some even called it sexual harassment. It’s too early to know the full story just yet, but even from the accuser’s point of view, it seems the conflict wasn’t as one-sided as it was originally made out to be.
