Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East has given birth to her first child, a baby girl named Nova. Earlier this year, the 36-year-old radio host revealed that she and her husband Marcel Badiane-Robin were expecting their first child. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, said they welcomed little Nova into the world last week.
Fleur shared the happy news with her Instagram followers. She wrote: “And just like that, our baby girl, Nova, is here!! Our daughter entered the world via squat position into the arms of my Husband and I on our living room floor.”
She added: “One day I will share my birth story with you (what a RIDE!), but for now, we are resting and doing well. So thankful to the amazing midwives who were by my side, my birthing partners (my auntie Tina and my Husband @marcel__robin ) and all of our family who have been helping out and showering us with love.
“It really does take a village! So grateful to God for this blessing. Our little Nova was born on the 22nd March and it feels like she’s always been here.” (sic)
Fleur’s friends and followers rushed to the comment section to congratulate the singer, with Strictly’s Katya Jones writing: “Huge congratulations.”
Carlos Gu echoed: “Congratulations guys.”
While Chyna Mills went on: “Welcome to the world baby girl.”
“Ahhh welcome to the world little Nova! Congratulations to you both,” Will Mellor added.
Fleur first announced her pregnancy on New Year’s Day, sharing a photo of herself holding her baby bump. Looking forward to the future, she wrote: “2024 is gonna be different..”
In early February, Fleur told everyone she would be taking a break from Hits Radio’s Breakfast Show, which she’s been on since 2019.
After her last show, she shared on Instagram: “I’m off! Off to go and have a baby! I’ve had an amazing last week with my [Hits Radio] family, filled with fun interviews, laughs, and surprises for my last show.
“Thank you to my [team] for making my last week so special.”
She also said: “Thanks for all of the well wishes and hilarious messages from our amazing listeners. I’m going to miss you all! I’ll be back soon though and I’ll keep you posted on this next chapter.”
