Geri Horner ‘too upset to talk’ as husband Christian accused of ‘inappropriate behaviour’

Geri Horner is reportedly “too upset to talk to anyone” after her husband Christian is under a company investigation following allegations of misconduct from a Red Bull employee which he has vehemently denied.

The former Spice Girl was previously said to be in “floods of tears” as she processes allegations made against her husband and F1 team boss, who is the subject of an internal investigation following accusations made by a Red Bull staff member.

He has been accused of inappropriate and controlling behaviour towards a female member of staff on the F1 team. Christian has strenuously denied the allegations.

On Monday, a report from Dutch publication De Telegraaf confirmed that the Red Bull boss was under investigation following complaints from a company employee. Asked about the accusations, Christian replied: “I completely deny these claims.”

It’s been claimed that Geri, 51, is “not talking to anyone” following the allegations.

“Geri seems to be simply too upset to engage with anyone. Just lots of tears. She will stand by him and be at his side just as much as she always has been. She never misses a race and that will not change,” a source told the Daily Mail.

BBC Sport later added that the allegations relate to inappropriate behaviour and controlling nature, with Red Bull already looking into the matter.

According to a report in The Times, the staff member has already been questioned as part of the investigation process. And Christian will be “interrogated” in detail by Red Bull Austria.

Red Bull released the following statement on Monday: “After becoming aware of recent allegations, the company initiated an independent investigation. This investigation, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialised lawyer.

“The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be complete as soon as practicable. It would not be appropriate to make any further comments at this time.”

The staff member is understood to have taken the complaint to Red Bull’s parent company in Austria, rather than the team’s base in Milton Keynes, owing to Christian’s high-ranking position in the company’s F1 set-up.

Christian has continued in his role and is currently away with senior management.

The former racing driver and Geri married at a church wedding in Woburn, Bedfordshire in 2015.
