Gogglebox star Tom Malone Jr has teased a comeback to the popular Channel 4 show after he shockingly quit back in 2021. The 30-year-old announced he was leaving the programme two years ago after he joined in 2014 alongside his brother Shaun and parents Tom and Julie.

Despite saying goodbye to the series that made him a household name, the rest of Tom’s family are still very much a part of the Channel 4 hit, so a return could be on the cards. Since leaving, the performer has been living out his dream of being a full-time dancer and that’s been his number one priority.

Speaking to Express.co.uk about the possibility of him returning, Tom said: “If I was able to do all of the stuff that I do now, then I’d be open to it. But I think due to the nature of the stuff I’m doing, I don’t think it would be a possibility. If it was, I’d definitely be open to it.”

Shaun, Tom and Julie are still very much part of Gogglebox and are regularly joined by their dogs, as well as Tom’s sister Vanessa, who has made brief appearances.

Tom issued a statement to his 311,000 followers on Instagram to let them know he was leaving in 2021. Sharing an image of himself wearing a grey rollerneck jumper, the dancer was seen holding a sign that read: “Back on the market. Get at me with any TV work.”

He penned: “So after 6 and a half years it’s finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox.

“I’ve loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show.

“But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them,” he continued.

The television personality confirmed the rest of his family were continuing on the Channel 4 series and was looking forward to watching as a viewer.

Tom is working with Pro-Excel, a Manchester-based organisation that brings together young people from diverse backgrounds to create opportunities, which might not otherwise be open to them.

The organisation, along with Tom took 157 people to Miami for five days with a major partnership with the world-famous Miami Dolphins, which culminated in a live half-time performance alongside the official Dolphins cheerleaders at the Hard Rock stadium in front of a live audience of 63,000 people.

Speaking about why he decided to get involved with this organisation, Tom explained: “I was lucky to be from a two parent household where my mum would drive me to dance classes or boxing to make sure I could do the things I wanted to do, a lot of people from my background don’t have that.”

This won’t be the last project that Tom Jr works on like this, and there are many more trips happening in the future. Dance schools can visit this link to find out more.
