A PR expert said it would be a “good move” for Holly Willoughby to turn her back on ITV amid reports that she is in the running to host a new Netflix show with Bear Grylls. The show will reportedly involve celebrities being put into a jungle and pitted against Bear in a series of challenges.

The expert said Holly, 42, is “ready to make a change” following her departure from ITV’s This Morning in February and a move to Netflix would “support her efforts in changing her image”.

Rochelle White from Rochelle White Communications told Express.co.uk: “I feel that Holly is ready to step into something new when it comes to her career and TV personality. Having been associated with ITV This Morning for so long, I think she is ready to make a change.

“The Netflix show is far removed from the daytime persona she is known for and could be a welcomed change. Also, with the show being on Netflix it will open her up to new wider audiences.

“Her career could take a new turn and support her efforts in changing her image. This would be a good move for her financially as there’s speculation that the shows Netflix commission pay well.”

A source said Holly, who is returning to TV this weekend, is “open to offers” but will be “carefully cherry-picking her next projects”.

They told The Sun: “It’s a really exciting concept and Bear is totally on board. Now they have Holly in their sights to host it.

“She is very glamorous and an accomplished host… Holly is open to offers. She won’t be rushing into anything and will be carefully cherry-picking her next projects.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Holly’s representatives as well as Netflix over the reports.

Holly will make her big TV comeback on Sunday evening as she returns to host Dancing On Ice alongside pal Stephen Mulhern.

The magician, 46, is replacing Phillip Schofield following his departure from ITV earlier this year. The 61-year-old had presented the ice-skating show for 14 years but quit the broadcaster in May after admitting to an affair with a younger colleague at This Morning.

Holly finally broke her silence for the first time since she quit This Morning to share an update about the new series of Dancing On Ice.

In view of her 8.5 million followers on Friday, Holly shared a picture of her Dancing On Ice script with the caption: “And so it begins…”

Thousands of Holly’s friends and fans rushed to the comments to congratulate her on her return.

This Morning presenter Craig Doyle wrote: “Go for it,” and Rochelle Humes said: “Let’s go girl,” with three star emojis.

TV chef Clodagh McKenna exclaimed: “The QUEEN is back!!!” And actress Tamzin Outhwaite echoed: “You’ve so got this.”

Dancing On Ice airs Sunday at 6.30pm on ITV.
